Mr. Nguyen Huu Tao has just finished harvesting his first Mokara orchid crop with great joy. He sold all 2,000 orchid stems within just a few days.
Mr. Tao said that after careful research, he boldly invested in a model of growing Mokara orchids for their flowers. With a greenhouse area of 1,000 square meters, Mr. Tao invested in planting more than 4,000 Mokara orchid plants.

According to Mr. Tao, Mokara orchids are easy to grow and care for, and initially well-suited to the local climate. The outstanding advantages of Mokara orchids are their good adaptability to weather conditions, resistance to pests and diseases, and minimal care requirements.
For growers of this type of orchid, all they need to do is provide sufficient moisture, water, light, and proper nutrition, and the plant will thrive and bloom year-round.
Mokara orchids are very durable, staying fresh for 10-15 days after being cut. This makes them ideal for the fresh flower market and the decorative services industry.
Mokara orchids come in a variety of vibrant colors such as red, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and more, creating a rich and captivating display. Furthermore, these flowers typically grow in clusters, with multiple blooms on each stem, enhancing their aesthetic appeal and making them easy to use in floral arrangements.
Mr. Tao shared: "I chose to grow Mokara orchids because they are a high - value crop, easy to care for, and suitable for the local climate. The market for Mokara orchids is stable, opening up opportunities for sustainable agricultural production for my family."

This type of orchid has the advantage of requiring only a one-time investment in seedlings, allowing for continuous harvesting for over 10 years. Currently, Mr. Tao's Mokara orchid garden yields an average of 2,000 first-grade flower stems per month.
Mr. Tao sells flowers for 7,000 VND per stem. In total, Mr. Tao earns approximately 14 million VND per month. The market for this type of flower is relatively stable.
Mr. Tao said that in the coming time, the number of first-grade flower branches will increase, and therefore income will also increase as the plants grow well and bloom simultaneously.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Kim Loan, Vice President of the Tuy Duc District Farmers' Association, Mr. Tao's Mokara orchid garden is an effective economic model. This model is suitable for families with limited land area.

In the future, with technical support and market access, the Mokara orchid cultivation model could be replicated, becoming a high-value production method for local people.
Mokara orchid production represents a promising direction in the development of high-tech agriculture . The application of greenhouses, automated irrigation, and chosen methods demonstrate the farmers' innovative thinking and research approach in agricultural production.
The model has contributed to diversifying local agricultural products and increasing the economic value of the crop farming sector. "The Tuy Duc District Farmers' Association is encouraging and supporting other farmers to learn from and replicate this model," Ms. Loan said.
Tuy Duc is a region where new and effective agricultural production models frequently emerge. Some of these models have become key areas for development, such as macadamia nuts, Japanese sweet potatoes, and lilies.
