Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Vietnamese expatriates in China, expressing his wish for them to unite and promote friendly relations between Vietnam and China.
Meeting with overseas Vietnamese at the Vietnamese Embassy in China on the afternoon of June 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the community to uphold the spirit of mutual support and assistance, help each other overcome difficulties, abide by the law, and contribute to development in their host country, making practical contributions to the cause of national construction and development.
The Prime Minister also expressed his hope that the approximately 42,000 Vietnamese people living and working in China would uphold national pride and solidarity, truly serving as an important bridge for the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.

The Prime Minister expressed his belief that this visit to China would contribute to consolidating and strengthening Vietnam-China relations, while also promoting the image of the country and attracting more investment into Vietnam. According to him, relations between the two countries have seen significant development following the visit to China in October 2022 by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Affirming that Vietnamese people residing abroad are part of the Vietnamese national community, the Prime Minister stated that Vietnam always has mechanisms and policies to support them in having full legal status, stable lives, and economic development.
"We are trying and must strive to maintain good relations with other countries so that Vietnamese people, wherever they are, can assert their legal status," the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid an official visit to China and attended the 14th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin from June 25-28, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab.
This is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's first official visit to China, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years, while Vietnam is China's largest trading partner within ASEAN. According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, total bilateral trade reached US$175.6 billion in 2022.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of March, the cumulative total investment from China into Vietnam reached US$23.85 billion with a total of 3,651 projects, ranking 6th among the countries and territories investing the most in Vietnam.
