These include counterfeit milk, substandard cosmetics, and even medicines that don't meet quality standards… This raises another alarm about the quality of goods circulating in the market. Even more dangerous is the complicity of celebrities and influential figures who have a significant impact on consumers and society.
From a certain perspective, this is also a criminal act. Unfortunately, such things have persisted over time, on a larger scale and with greater sophistication. Of course, the impact of these wrongdoings affects many people, impacting their health, psychology, and finances. Driven by the motive of "illegitimate enrichment," they deliberately ignore legal regulations. These actions are also considered crimes against their fellow citizens and must be severely punished.
From a practical perspective, wealth creation has been and continues to be encouraged, with an environment and legal framework created to ensure fair competition. Many in the business community know that Resolution 09 of December 9, 2011, issued by the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs, is seen as an affirmation of the direction of enterprise development in the new era, meeting the urgent demands for asserting the position and role of entrepreneurs, and representing a strong commitment from the Party and the State.

A prominent feature of the Resolution is the view to build an equal and favorable production and business environment for entrepreneurs; to create a healthy legal environment, eliminating privileges and business monopolies. At the same time, the Resolution affirms the creation of conditions for private enterprises to have equal access to development resources, especially in the implementation of investment projects in the form of public-private partnerships, and encourages private capital contribution to state-owned enterprises…
Most recently, Resolution 68 of the Politburo on the development of the private economy has officially come into effect, and a nationwide competition to get rich is even expected to be launched, thus widening the playing field for businesses and entrepreneurs.
It must be acknowledged that, with an increasingly open business environment, businesses and entrepreneurs have continuously grown stronger in recent years, making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the country in general and the province in particular. The strong rise of the business community, especially after Vietnam joined the global economic system, has contributed to changing the face of the country. Most notably, in Tien Giang province, export turnover has increased continuously year after year and is close to reaching US$6.5 billion in 2024. This figure partly demonstrates the contribution of various economic sectors, with entrepreneurs and businesses playing a leading role.
But to be fair, besides the monetary contributions, we must also focus on the social responsibility of entrepreneurs and businesses towards the community and society. Many entrepreneurs and businesses, including individual businesses, have demonstrated good business ethics towards society and consumers in recent times, but there are also many businesses that do not pay attention to, or intentionally neglect, their responsibilities. These include responsibility to protect the environment, fulfilling tax obligations to the state budget, responsibility to employees, and responsibility to consumers…
In reality, many entrepreneurs and businesses have "neglected" their responsibilities. Evidence includes businesses that intentionally pollute the environment, failing to comply despite repeated penalties from authorities; many businesses that are negligent or intentionally evade taxes, commit tax fraud, or engage in sophisticated tax evasion; many businesses that ignore labor policies, leading to strikes and work stoppages; and the continued existence of commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and imitation products…
The current production and business environment is gradually shifting towards openness, fairness, and transparency. This does not mean we can produce and do business at all costs, solely pursuing profit. A transparent business environment coupled with strict penalties for fraudulent and illegal activities is essential. This will create a foundation for sustainable development. It's not just about complying with the law, but also about ethical conduct in production and business, yet unfortunately, this issue has persisted. Therefore, the standards for measuring business ethics also need to be readjusted.
