From a family business in pangasius farming, Cuu Long An Giang Aquaculture (CL-FISH) has grown into a well-known exporter of pangasius and basa fish in Vietnam and was ranked among the Top 100 Golden Stars of Vietnam in 2024.
On the evening of December 24th, the Vietnam Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association held the Golden Star of Vietnam Award ceremony. This year's award had 293 nominated businesses.
After 21 years of implementation (2003 - 2024), the Golden Star of Vietnam Award has become a prestigious award, contributing to building the reputation and image of Vietnamese brands. Businesses that have received the award have experienced strong growth, expanded into international markets, gained more foreign partners, and become symbols of pride for their localities and the country.
Businesses participating in this year's awards were nominated from 53 provinces and cities nationwide. The awards selection committee chose outstanding businesses based on various criteria related to business performance and social responsibility. The selection results were verified by economic experts.
The top 200 businesses that won this year's Golden Star Award of Vietnam have total assets of up to 8 trillion VND; revenue in 2023 reached 799,000 billion VND, profit reached 115,000 billion VND, contributed 65,000 billion VND to the state budget, and created jobs for 405,000 workers.
The core value in CL-FISH's sustainable journey is to demonstrate a business development model that is effective and provides stable growth, gradually transforming the company from a small, family-owned enterprise into a multi-billion dollar business, contributing to turning pangasius from a traditional product into a symbol of quality on international dining tables.
With many years of experience in raising and exporting pangasius to many countries around the world , and 22 years of operation of its pangasius processing plant for export, CL-FISH is recognized as one of the pioneering and leading units in this field in Vietnam.

Looking back at its early days, CL-FISH faced a challenging start. Just after investing in and building its factory in 2003, the Vietnamese pangasius industry was simultaneously subjected to import bans by its two main markets, the US and Europe, following anti-dumping lawsuits. In this context, CL-FISH had to flexibly shift its market focus to seek growth. The Middle East, a region completely unfamiliar to pangasius at that time, became the pioneering destination for CL-FISH, laying the foundation for a potentially lucrative international market.
In 2007, CL-FISH became the pioneering pangasius fish producer in the industry to be listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (Hose, stock code ACL), affirming its position as a model enterprise with a charter capital of over 500 billion VND, equity of over 800 billion VND, and estimated revenue of 70 million USD in 2024.
Success in exploring new markets further motivates the company to confidently penetrate other demanding and potentially lucrative markets, making a mark for Vietnamese pangasius and basa fish on the international stage.
In 2006, thanks to its effective export strategy, CL-FISH was one of 200 units awarded the "Business Excellence Awards" by the National Committee for International Economic Cooperation. A year later, the European market returned to normal, and the US gradually opened its doors to Vietnamese seafood.

To proactively secure a supply of clean raw materials, meet production scale requirements, and commit to meeting export standards for the US, Europe, South America, and Asian countries, CL-FISH has invested in a closed-loop supply chain, from feed production and farming to processing and distribution. Thanks to investments in BAP and ASC-certified farms, CL-FISH has built a long-term reputation and enhanced the value of Vietnam's pangasius industry.
Currently, CL-FISH has a large fish farming area of approximately 150 hectares. With this cultivated area, the company can supply about 40,000 tons of fresh fish annually, ensuring 100% of the raw fish input for all three factories year-round. This guarantees a stable supply of fresh, clean raw materials as well as ensuring the quality of the final product.
CL-FISH's journey is a testament to perseverance and unwavering ambition in reaching new heights. Through its pioneering steps, CL-FISH not only affirms the position of Vietnamese pangasius but also contributes to establishing Vietnam's aquaculture industry on the world map.
