Initially, Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen (Thanh Sen ward) used Facebook primarily as a channel to connect and share her daily life with friends. However, after her Facebook account was monetized, she began to focus more on content. She regularly experiences and introduces delicious food, restaurants, and entertainment venues in Ha Tinh province through short videos and posts on her personal page.

Thanks to her relatable and authentic style, much of her content attracts a large number of views, interactions, and shares from other users. Some videos and posts reach hundreds of thousands of views, which allows her account to be paid by Facebook based on the effectiveness of each post.
Just two weeks after enabling the monetization feature, the earnings displayed on her account reached nearly $80.

Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen said: “Initially, I just wanted to share with people the delicious food and beautiful places in Ha Tinh that I had experienced so that more people would know about them. When I posted videos and articles on Facebook, I received quite a lot of views, comments, and interactions from friends, acquaintances, and the online community. Then, the platform started paying for posts based on the level of interaction and user reach. Currently, my highest-earning post displayed on Facebook is $12.08. This is also a motivation for me to continue investing in content and sharing more real-life experiences.”
As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Thach Xuan commune), since Facebook launched its monetization program, she has proactively researched and registered to enable monetization for her personal account. Instead of investing in elaborate content, she chooses to share relatable images and videos of vegetables, fruits, and products grown in her family's garden.

Simple, authentic content about everyday life in the countryside has received positive attention from the online community. Many posts attract views, comments, and shares from friends and followers.
According to Ms. Hoa, Facebook's payment system based on engagement has motivated her to continue sharing content and promote her family's organic products to a wider audience.

“With my daily gardening and planting, I often record videos and take pictures to post on Facebook to share with friends. Sometimes I add music to my posts, sometimes I film the process of caring for the plants and harvesting vegetables… and I receive quite positive interaction from people. Currently, my Facebook account has been monetized and is awaiting approval from the platform. Being able to earn extra income from Facebook has also made me pay more attention to the content I post; I try to make the images and videos more polished than before to attract viewers,” shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa.
Facebook's implementation of policies that pay users is creating a new trend in content creation in Ha Tinh. From a platform primarily serving connection and entertainment, Facebook is gradually becoming a tool that helps many people leverage their creativity and life experiences to generate additional income. This not only reflects the development of the digital economy but also shows a change in how people access the social media environment.
However, along with the opportunities come numerous challenges. The pressure to chase views and interactions easily leads some users to produce unverified, sensational, or offensive content to attract viewers. This reality highlights the need for responsible use of social media, especially in creating wholesome content that respects ethical standards and complies with legal regulations in the digital environment.

Lieutenant Pham Minh Hieu, from the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Ha Tinh Provincial Police, advised: “Facebook's implementation of a monetization mechanism for users is an opportunity for many individuals to develop digital content and generate legitimate income. However, users should not chase likes and views by posting and sharing false information, offensive content, or content that violates moral standards. At the same time, they should respect copyright and intellectual property rights, and not copy or steal the content and intellectual property of others for profit. All activities in cyberspace must comply with the law. Furthermore, there is currently a situation where individuals are exploiting Facebook's monetization feature to try to hijack or steal accounts that have been approved for monetization for personal gain. Therefore, users need to proactively apply security measures such as two-factor authentication, protect personal information, and not share verification codes to avoid having their accounts compromised.”
