Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân21/09/2024

This book is about 21 Hungarian women who have made exceptional contributions in various fields, from science, society, economics , and art to sports. The book tells the stories of their lives and motivations through conversations between writer and journalist Szabó Attila Zoltan and these women. These include Hungary's first world-renowned female chess champion, Krizsán Edith; world record-holder deep-sea diver Korok Fatima; famous singer Csepregi Éva; Hungary's first female professor specializing in otolaryngology and the nervous system; Professor Dr. Szirmai Ágnes; the director of the Alfa Romeo car brand; the Paralympic medalist with disabilities; 107-year-old Gizella; and several other notable figures.

In particular, Ms. Phan Bich Thien was invited by the author to write the title for this book about women in the 21st century. The author portrays Ms. Phan Bich Thien as a prime example of the connection between Vietnam and Hungary, between Asia and Europe, and of her tireless dedication to promoting Vietnamese culture in Hungarian society.

Author Szabó Attila Zoltan is delighted to have introduced to readers the exceptional contributions of these 21 inspiring women. He shared that Ms. Phan Bích Thiện always puts the collective interest above personal gain, and her role as a bridge has helped Hungarian people become closer to and better understand Vietnam.

Speaking at the book launch in mid-September, Mr. Le Trong Ha, Chargé d'affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, highly appreciated this meaningful event and affirmed that it is proof of the excellent integration of Dr. Phan Bich Thien in particular and the Vietnamese community in Hungary in general.

These measures will significantly contribute to the process of completing the procedures for Vietnamese people in Hungary to be recognized as an ethnic minority, a goal that the representative agency and the Association of Vietnamese People in Hungary are striving to achieve.

For her part, Ms. Phan Bich Thien shared her honor at being present alongside these inspiring women of Hungary. According to her, they are beautiful pieces of life, contributing their strength, intellect, and enthusiasm daily to the development of society, motivating people to overcome difficulties and strive towards better things in life.

Deeply moved by Ms. Phan Bich Thien's sharing about the flood situation and the hardships that the Vietnamese people are enduring, the author and the organizing committee unanimously agreed to donate the entire proceeds from the book launch, nearly 300,000 Forint (21 million VND), to those in need in Vietnam. Chargé d'affaires Le Trong Ha thanked the Hungarian readers for their generosity towards the Vietnamese people.
