Dinh Thi Hai Yen, born in 2010, is an 11th-grade student at Thach Ban High School. She is the daughter of severely wounded veteran Dinh Van Duong, a paratrooper and special forces soldier, the sole survivor of the Mi-171 helicopter crash in Hoa Lac ( Hanoi ) on July 7, 2014, which claimed the lives of 20 of his comrades.
Despite suffering particularly severe injuries in the accident, with the willpower, determination, and noble qualities of a soldier of Uncle Ho's army, Dinh Van Duong overcame adversity and became a strong support for his family.
Hai Yen's mother is Major Nguyen Thi Hai, a staff member of the X-ray Diagnosis Department (C8A) at the Central Military Hospital 108. Growing up surrounded by the love, sacrifice, and resilience of her parents, Hai Yen has always been well-behaved and has consistently achieved the title of excellent student for many years. She is also one of the most determined students, always striving for excellence in her studies and life.

A heartwarming meeting between officers and members of the Women's Association of the Army Women's Committee and the family of little Hai Yen.
Since 2023, in addition to the love of her family, Hai Yen has also received the care, support, and companionship of female officers and members of the Women's Association of the Army. On this occasion, the Association presented her with a financial support package from the Ministry of National Defense worth 24 million VND. On behalf of the Women's Association of the Army, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Ai Xuan - Deputy Head of the Women's Association of the Army - presented the gift, kindly inquired about her well-being, and encouraged her to continue striving in her studies, nurturing her dreams, and confidently moving forward on her journey.
The "Military Mother Sponsorship Program" has been widely implemented by the Army Women's Committee since 2021 across women's organizations throughout the military. From supporting and caring for orphaned children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the program has increasingly spread its profound humanitarian values, becoming a loving support system for many children in difficult circumstances.
Over the past five years, the female mentors in the Army have not only provided material support but also shown care, companionship, and sharing as if they were family members. Through these simple yet meaningful actions, the program has contributed to instilling hope and nurturing dreams in many children, while simultaneously spreading the beautiful image of women in the Army and the noble qualities of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army in the new era.
