On June 29, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the 2018 generaleducation textbook program held a conference to review 4 years, period 2019-2024.
Attending the Conference were comrade Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee; members of the Steering Committee.
Implementing the directives of the Party, National Assembly, Government, Ministry of Education and Training , Provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee for implementing the new textbook and general education program has issued plans, decisions, directives, and organized the implementation of the general education program.
The Department of Education and Training coordinates with departments, branches, districts and cities to advise the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee to issue documents, decisions and implementation projects, such as: Perfecting and arranging public service units in the field of education and training; strengthening facilities to implement preschool and general education programs for the period 2020-2025; building schools that meet national standards; socializing education in the province for the period 2021-2025.
After 4 years of implementing the 2018 general education textbook program, the scale of schools, facilities, and equipment have been invested in construction. Schools prioritize the arrangement of experienced teachers who meet training standards to teach the new textbook program. Students initially approach the new general education program, proactively receive knowledge, and practice skills.
Up to now, the whole province has over 99.9% of 6-year-old children entering grade 1; 94% of 11-year-old children completing primary school; 97.6% of 14-year-old children completing secondary school. Son La is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as having achieved the standard of universal primary and secondary education level 2 (ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities and 5th out of 14 provinces in the Northern midlands and mountainous region); achieving the standard of eliminating illiteracy level 2 (ranked 45th out of 63 provinces and cities).
The work of selecting textbooks is selected by units according to regulations; coordinating with publishers through authorized units to supply textbooks to units and parents of students in the area. Thoroughly informing and propagating to teachers and students to preserve and maintain textbooks and supporting books and learning materials for schools to support students in difficult circumstances.
Speaking at the conference, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the members of the Steering Committee and the People's Committees of districts and cities to continue to disseminate and implement documents from higher levels on the innovation of the new general education program. Continue to implement projects and plans on increasing investment in facilities to implement the preschool and general education programs for the 2021-2025 period; build preschools and general schools that meet national standards for the 2021-2025 period.
Comrade Trang Thi Xuan emphasized: Innovate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education in the direction of consolidating and improving the results of implementing the quality management system according to international standards... Strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of the organization and implementation of programs, textbooks, and general education for educational units and institutions. People's Committees of districts and cities closely follow the directives of the Ministry of Education and Training on reviewing and continuing to supplement the team of teachers teaching the new general education program, especially teachers of information technology, English, and arts...
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 6 individuals; the Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 17 groups and 40 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the 2018 general education program, period 2019-2024.
