According to national electricity consumption statistics from the National Power System Operation and Electricity Market Company (NSMO), after one hour of switching off lights in response to the Earth Hour 2025 campaign (from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on March 22nd), the whole country saved 448,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to approximately 942.2 million VND.

Earth Hour is one of the annual global events for environmental protection, with participation from many countries and territories.

The Earth Hour campaign in Vietnam, co-organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, attracted the attention and participation of all 63 provinces and cities, as well as a large number of people from all walks of life.

Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) is one of the exemplary units, always actively coordinating to effectively implement the program. 2025 marks the 17th time Vietnam has participated in this campaign.

Building on the ripple effect of Earth Hour and the achievements of previous years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has launched the "National Energy Saving Movement in Response to Earth Hour 2025" with the message "Green Transition - Green Future".

The movement goes beyond simply advocating for electricity conservation; it also aims for a broader goal: encouraging sustainable energy production, increasing the use of renewable energy, promoting the application of energy-saving products and equipment, and contributing to improved energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects.

After years of active participation, the Earth Hour campaign in Vietnam has spread strongly throughout the country, becoming a meaningful annual event held every March.
