The PNC Championship is a tournament for famous father-son pairs in the world of golf. The rules of this tournament stipulate that only one of the two (father or son) must be a professional golfer; the other can be an amateur athlete, or even someone who is not yet a professional athlete, to participate.

This year, the tournament continues to feature world golf legend Tiger Woods and his 14-year-old son, Charlie Woods. The father and son's best achievement was finishing second in this tournament in 2021, just about 10 months after Tiger Woods suffered a very serious car accident that year.
Tiger Woods is currently limiting his participation in professional tournaments on the PGA Tour (the world's most prestigious golf tour, equivalent to the Masters in tennis) due to health reasons.
Tiger Woods only played the entire PNC Championship, because golfers don't need to walk between holes (they are allowed to use golf carts). Additionally, Tiger Woods wanted to participate in the PNC Championship to support his son.
Prior to this year's tournament, Tiger Woods said: "The tournament is a wonderful gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie. My son and I are really looking forward to competing at the PNC Championship this year."
"My son and I get to compete alongside so many talented father-son pairs in golf. This is a very special occasion," Tiger Woods added.
The 2023 PNC Championship took place from December 16th to 17th. Besides Tiger Woods and his son, this year's tournament featured Justin Thomas (former world number one) and his father Mike Thomas, Nelly Korda (former world number one female golfer and current Olympic champion) and her father Petr Korda.
In addition, Lee Trevino (84 years old) and his son Daniel Trevino are a father-son pair who have competed annually in this tournament since the PNC Championship was established in 1995.
