On the afternoon of March 18th, the Ministry of Planning and Investment , in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC) and Meta Group, announced the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 (VIC).
This program aims to identify and honor solutions that improve the quality of design, packaging, and testing processes in the semiconductor industry value chain, with a priority on the application of AI. In addition, the program also seeks and recognizes AI-based solutions for building and developing businesses and increasing work productivity.
The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 aims to promote cooperation, attract resources, and build a multilateral cooperation platform to create a launching pad for Vietnamese businesses to increase value and enhance their position in the global value chain.
Through identifying and honoring solutions, the program will contribute to the goal of spreading awareness of the importance and value of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries. At the same time, the program will also serve as a recommendation and connection point for Vietnamese businesses with solutions for improving operations, enhancing performance, and developing new products and services to increase their competitive advantage in the global market.
The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 program runs until October 2024. Outstanding solutions selected will have the opportunity to be introduced to and collaborate with corporations and investment funds. Through the program, solution developers will also be connected to and join the NIC and Meta ecosystem, along with support packages, capacity building, trade promotion opportunities, and many other awards.
The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 is a program of great significance for the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry ecosystem in particular, and for Vietnam's business environment in general.
According to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong, Vietnam is emerging as a promising player in the semiconductor industry with many advantages such as a strategic location, increasingly developed digital infrastructure, a tech-savvy population, and a large, creative young workforce. Along with the semiconductor industry, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a foundational field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the wave of AI technology development, Vietnam has also taken strong steps in promoting research, application, and development of AI human resources.
In this context, the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 program not only demonstrates the vision and strong support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in promoting these two promising areas, but also contributes to realizing the strategic goals set by the Government .
