Bad news about the ultra-thin iPhone.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Numerous sources confirm that the ultra-thin iPhone Apple is developing will only be equipped with a single main camera.

According to a report from The Elec , LG Innotek has invested $267.4 million in new camera module manufacturing facilities. These components will be supplied to the iPhone 17 generation that Apple will launch in 2025.

This source reveals that the camera system on the iPhone 17 will have better specifications than its predecessor. However, the telephoto lens will still only appear on the Pro versions.

This means the ultra-thin iPhone (iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim) will not be equipped with a lens capable of optical zoom. Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also suggested that the iPhone 17 Air would only integrate a single lens to ensure the ultra-thin design.

The slimness of a phone largely depends on the size of the battery integrated inside the device. Apple is reportedly facing technical challenges in manufacturing batteries for the ultra-thin iPhone.

According to MacRumors , the iPhone 17 Air's battery won't be as thin as Apple initially planned. Currently, the battery is estimated to be around 6mm thick. Therefore, the device's overall thickness will likely be greater than this figure.

To date, the iPhone 6 is the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever produced, measuring 6.9mm thick. It's likely that the iPhone 17 Air's thickness won't be significantly different from the model released in 2014.
