Earlier, on the evening of August 30, the tropical depression weakened into a low-pressure area over central Laos.

At 10 PM, the center of the tropical depression was located at approximately 18.1°N; 104.3°E, over central Laos. The strongest winds at the center of the depression were below level 6 (<39 km/h).
