This morning, May 9th, the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with RMIT University Vietnam, officially launched the “Vietnam Education Innovation Forum with Artificial Intelligence.”

The forum provides a platform for experts, education administrators, teachers, and lecturers nationwide to share experiences and best practices on the application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in education.

The forum participants include teachers and school administrators at all levels of preschool and primary education; lecturers at higher education and vocational education institutions; education administrators at all levels; and IT staff in educational institutions.

The forum includes a series of activities chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training to promote the application of AI in education and enhance the AI application capacity of teachers and education administrators, taking place in 2025: a workshop on the current implementation of AI in education, its status and solutions; a specialized training program on the application of AI in teaching and learning; a national competition on the application of AI in education; and the Vietnam Education Day on AI Innovation.

Specifically, a workshop on the current state and solutions for AI application in education is scheduled to be held on May 9, 2025 in Hanoi , discussing the current implementation of AI in education and proposing solutions.

The specialized training program on AI applications in teaching and learning aims to support Vietnamese teachers and lecturers nationwide in enhancing their capacity to apply artificial intelligence (AI), especially generative AI, in teaching and learning activities through specialized training sessions led by experts. The program includes nationwide online training (including online training sessions scheduled for May and June); in-person training for key administrators and teachers in preschool and primary education (organized in three regions, scheduled for July); and a hybrid in-person and online training program specifically for key administrators and lecturers in universities (scheduled for August in Ho Chi Minh City).

The National Competition on AI Applications in Education is open to all teachers and lecturers in Vietnam, including categories for both general and higher education, with entries focusing on the use of AI in teaching and learning activities in schools.

The Vietnam Education Innovation Forum on Artificial Intelligence will conclude with the Vietnam Education Day on AI Innovation, featuring an awards ceremony honoring educators with outstanding AI application products, an exhibition and display of initiatives, and the forum's closing ceremony, scheduled to take place in October in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Management Staff, Ministry of Education and Training, said that the forum is an important activity of the Ministry of Education and Training, proposed and implemented by RMIT University Vietnam, helping to strongly disseminate knowledge and skills about AI to teachers and educational management staff.

“This forum not only provides knowledge and new technologies for education, but also creates strong motivation in the training and development of teachers and education management staff, in line with the Ministry of Education and Training's direction of innovation and digital transformation,” Mr. Duc said.
