Organizing a series of activities to promote AI applications in education

This morning, May 9, the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with RMIT University Vietnam officially launched the "Vietnam Education Innovation Forum with Artificial Intelligence."

The forum is a place where experts, education managers, teachers and lecturers across the country can share experiences and best practices on the application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the field of education.

The forum's participants are teachers and school administrators at all levels of preschool and general education; lecturers at universities and vocational education institutions; education administrators at all levels; and information technology staff in educational institutions.

The Forum includes a series of activities chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training to promote the application of AI in education and improve the AI application capacity of teachers and education managers, taking place in 2025: Workshop on the current implementation of AI applications in education, status and solutions; specialized training program on AI applications in teaching and learning; national competition on AI Applications in Education; Vietnam Education Festival on AI Innovation.

Specifically, the workshop on the current implementation of AI applications in education, current status and solutions is scheduled to be held on May 9, 2025 in Hanoi , discussing the current implementation of AI in education and proposing implementation solutions.

The specialized training program on AI application in teaching and learning aims to support Vietnamese teachers and lecturers nationwide to improve their capacity to apply artificial intelligence (AI), especially generative AI, in teaching and learning activities through specialized training sessions from experts. The program includes nationwide online training activities (including online training sessions scheduled to take place in May and June); direct training for managers and key teachers of preschool and general education (organized in three regions, scheduled to be held in July); direct training combined with online training exclusively for managers and key lecturers of universities (scheduled to be held in August in Ho Chi Minh City.

The National Competition on AI Applications in Education is open to all teachers and lecturers in Vietnam, including categories for general education and higher education, with entries focusing on the use of AI in teaching and learning activities in schools.

The Vietnam Education Innovation Forum with Artificial Intelligence will conclude with the Vietnam Education Day on AI Innovation event with a ceremony to honor teachers with excellent products on AI applications, an exhibition and display of initiatives, and the closing ceremony of the forum, scheduled to take place in October in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Managers, Ministry of Education and Training, said that the forum is an important activity of the Ministry of Education and Training proposed and implemented by RMIT University Vietnam, helping to strongly spread knowledge and skills about AI to teachers and educational managers.

“This forum not only provides new knowledge and technology for education, but also creates a strong driving force in the training and development of teachers and educational managers, in line with the innovation and digital transformation orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training,” said Mr. Duc./.
