According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam, in the context of the strong digital transformation taking place globally, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation has "marked a strong shift in the strategy for the development of science and technology, a key area to focus on removing bottlenecks from general awareness to institutions, creating momentum to promote the comprehensive development of the country."
“Through the thorough implementation of the Party's guidelines, the development of science, technology, and innovation in recent years has achieved many great accomplishments, making important contributions to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, disaster prevention, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development of the country. Science, technology, and innovation are increasingly affirmed as one of the key drivers of economic growth, improving labor productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the economy,” affirmed Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam.
However, in recent times, alongside the achievements, the development of science, technology, and innovation in Vietnam still faces many limitations and shortcomings, requiring continued comprehensive and synchronized reforms to create breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, and innovation.
Based on that, the delegates at the Conference actively exchanged ideas, discussed, and contributed their passion and intellect to clarify the new context and trends of science, technology, and innovation in the digital age; objectively and comprehensively assess the current state of science, technology, and innovation development in our country over the past period; affirm the role of science, technology, and innovation as a key driving force for rapid and sustainable national development in the digital age; share experiences in applying science and technology in various fields; and propose comprehensive and feasible viewpoints and solutions to promote the development of science, technology, and innovation in the future.
