According to My Thuan Project Management Board ( Ministry of Construction ), the bridge Rach Mieu 2 is a key transport project, with a total investment of more than 6,810 billion VND from the state budget.
Specifically, the period 2021 - 2025 is about 5,592 billion VND (including capital assigned in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 in Decision No. 1535/QD-TTg dated September 15, 2021 of the Prime Minister is 4,399 billion VND; additional balanced capital from regulating and adjusting the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 of the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) is nearly 1,193 billion VND). The period 2026 - 2030 is about 1,218.13 billion VND.
The entire route is 17.6 km long, of which the main bridge is a cable-stayed bridge nearly 2 km long, designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road, with a scale of 4 lanes.
The project starts at Dong Tam crossroads (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province (now in Hung Long commune, Dong Thap province); the end point is at about Km16+660 National Highway 60, about 710 m from the northern abutment of Ham Luong bridge in Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province (now in Ben Tre ward, Vinh Long province).
According to records at the scene, a system of signs, lighting, traffic signals and speed limit signs on the two roads leading to the bridge have been installed.
Auxiliary items such as installing reflectors on the median strip, painting the bridge surface... are also being urgently constructed by workers, aiming to soon complete the entire project.

Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director The My Thuan Project Management Board said that during the implementation process, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project encountered many difficulties such as the serious impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, problems in site clearance and fluctuations in raw material prices. However, thanks to the attention and close direction of the Party and State leaders, along with the close coordination of the two provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre (now Dong Thap and Vinh Long), the project was completed about 5 months ahead of schedule.
In particular, responding to the Prime Minister's direction during the site inspections, the investor and the construction unit "overcame the sun and rain", "stayed on the site, followed the progress", and continuously worked in "3 shifts, 4 teams". The project has now been completed and officially put into operation on August 19.
The completion of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will end congestion and streamline traffic more effectively between Vinh Long and Dong Thap.
The project also contributes to completing the regional traffic network, meeting the increasing transportation demand on National Highway 60, ensuring national security and socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta. In addition to reducing traffic congestion and accidents, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge also shortens the traffic distance between Ho Chi Minh City and the eastern provinces of the Mekong Delta.
