
Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn visits Military Hospital 175 .
Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defence; and Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, also attended the program.
Speaking at Military Hospital 175, Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn expressed his pleasure at having the opportunity to visit and better understand the significant contributions that Military Hospital 175 is making, especially in its role as a core force in Vietnam's United Nations peacekeeping operations.
For over 14 years, Australia and Vietnam have been close partners in the field of peacekeeping.
With Military Hospital 175, this collaborative relationship began in 2014 and has continuously developed.

Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn had a cordial conversation with the leaders of Military Hospital 175 and the United Nations peacekeeping force.
Since 2024, more than 1,000 Vietnamese United Nations peacekeeping personnel have been deployed around the world .
"The work you are doing in South Sudan and with other United Nations missions is making a significant contribution to global peace and security," Sam Mostyn emphasized.
The success of the Vietnamese peacekeeping forces also reflects the high level of competence and standards of the Vietnam People's Army in participating in international missions. Australia is proud to be a partner, contributing to ensuring that these contributions continue to be realized.
Governor-General Sam Mostyn also stated that last month, Australia handed over equipment to the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department to facilitate training and help Vietnamese peacekeeping forces prepare for upcoming missions.
Furthermore, within the next 10 days, Australia will continue to conduct support flights for Vietnam's Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 as it heads to its mission at the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.
Ms. Sam Mostyn wished the Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 of Vietnam great success in its training and in fulfilling its international mission.

Expressing gratitude for Australia's practical assistance to Military Hospital 175 in general, and to Vietnam's United Nations peacekeeping forces in particular, Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175, stated that Military Hospital 175 is committed to continuing its active participation in cooperation programs with Australia, focusing on professional training, improving English language skills, military medicine, and peacekeeping.
Major General Tran Quoc Viet expressed his belief that, with strong cooperation, the friendship between Vietnam and Australia in the fields of defense and military medicine will continue to develop strongly, making practical contributions to regional peace and stability and the health of the people of both countries.
Later that same day, Governor-General Sam Mostyn also met and interacted directly with the Vietnamese forces participating in the United Nations peacekeeping mission.
Afterwards, Governor-General Sam Mostyn and her husband, along with Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, performed a ceremony planting a commemorative tree at Military Hospital 175.
