Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, journalist Le Quoc Minh, Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, stated that Nhan Dan is an official political newspaper whose name was suggested by President Ho Chi Minh and was not established through a normal registration and licensing procedure, but by a decision of the Party Congress - the Second National Congress in 1951, in the context of the resistance war against French colonialism which demanded that the Party return to public operation under the name of the Vietnam Labor Party, along with the need for an official Party mouthpiece.
The Nhan Dan newspaper was born as a direct continuation of the leading role of the earlier Su That (Truth) newspaper – the organ of the Association of Marxist Researchers in Indochina, the name of our Party when it declared its self-dissolution and went underground in the special circumstances after the 1946 National Resistance War. It can be affirmed that the common thread running through Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper, founded and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, Tranh Dau (Struggle), Co Giai Phong (Liberation Flag), Su That (Truth), and Nhan Dan (People) is the steadfast, continuous, and systematic continuation of its role as the ideological and journalistic banner of the Party.
"Under the direct and comprehensive leadership and guidance of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the General Secretaries, and the pioneering leaders throughout the ages, Nhan Dan Newspaper has affirmed its position in the revolutionary and national liberation movement, successfully carrying out the national democratic revolution, fighting for national reunification, integration, building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland," affirmed the Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper.
According to journalist Le Quoc Minh, since its inception, the Nhan Dan Newspaper has been highly valued by Party General Secretaries, from the older generation such as Comrade Truong Chinh and Comrade Le Duan to current General Secretaries Nguyen Phu Trong and To Lam. It not only leads through resolutions and directives but also guides transformation, expressed through vivid and concrete journalistic works; it not only discusses policies and guidelines but also offers solutions and organizes implementation; it not only outlines long-term directions, goals, and issues but also addresses specific individuals, events, and phenomena; it not only remains steadfast in its ideals, goals, and path but also flexibly adjusts, supplements, and refines its political line to suit each stage of the revolution's development, meeting practical demands and the aspirations and will of the people. This is the identity, prestige, position, reach, and influence of the Nhan Dan Newspaper in the country's political life and in the hearts of its readers.
Currently, together with Nhan Dan Daily, Nhan Dan Online (in Vietnamese, English, French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, and Korean languages); Nhan Dan Weekend, Nhan Dan Monthly, and Thoi Nay have formed a unified multimedia newsroom with many achievements.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam presented the First-Class Labor Order to Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Delivering a keynote address at the commemoration ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that 75 years ago, in implementing the Resolution of the 2nd National Congress of the Party on "Publishing a newspaper named Nhan Dan, the central organ of the Party," on March 11, 1951, the first issue of Nhan Dan newspaper was released to readers, marking an important milestone in the history of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism and in the ideological work of our Party. Over the past seven decades, continuing the glorious legacy of newspapers such as Thanh Nien, Tranh Dau, Co Giai Phong, and Su That, and having overcome challenging historical periods, Nhan Dan newspaper has continuously developed and matured, always maintaining its role as a sharp ideological weapon of the Party; an effective means of information and propaganda for Party committees and governments at all levels; and a reliable forum for Party members and the people. It has consistently excelled in fulfilling its mission as the central organ of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the voice of the Party, the State, and the Vietnamese people, contributing to strengthening social trust and creating unity in awareness and action throughout the Party, the people, and the armed forces.
“Along with the growth of the Party and the country, generations of people working at Nhan Dan Newspaper have steadfastly upheld their ideals, remained committed to their profession, overcome countless difficulties and hardships, and devoted themselves to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Nation. During the years of resistance against colonialism and imperialism, and in defending territorial sovereignty, many cadres and reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper wielded both pen and gun, simultaneously working as journalists and directly fighting on the battlefields. Many comrades bravely sacrificed their lives, so that each page of the newspaper would not only be information but also faith, will, and spiritual strength to encourage the entire nation to move forward and achieve victory,” the General Secretary affirmed.
In the process of building socialism, reforming and developing the country, the Nhan Dan Newspaper has always closely followed the vibrant realities of life, propagating and encouraging the people to implement the Party's reform guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations. The newspaper has focused on identifying new issues with high theoretical and practical value, promptly reflecting emerging problems, creating an important information channel for the Party and State to grasp, supplement, and perfect guidelines, mechanisms, and policies to meet the requirements of national development. At the same time, it has actively contributed to the fight against ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and lifestyle issues; the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; and resolutely refuted false information, viewpoints, and arguments of hostile forces, protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Emphasizing that in recent times, Nhan Dan Newspaper has actively undergone digital transformation, striving to explore and innovate methods of information delivery and presentation, expanding media channels, enhancing persuasiveness and attractiveness, and meeting the increasingly high information demands of the public, General Secretary To Lam assessed that the newspaper has gradually affirmed its position as a major press agency of the Party, truly becoming the voice of the Party, the State, and the people. In line with the strong spirit of innovation and creativity of the entire country, the newspaper's publications have continuously improved and developed significantly in terms of content, form, and technology; strongly exploiting modern journalistic forms; actively disseminating news on major social media platforms… attracting millions of views and shares. The proactive and significant investment in technology, the application of artificial intelligence and big data to content production, reader analysis, and optimization of editorial processes, along with the diversification of journalistic products using new technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and podcasts—providing immersive, multi-dimensional interactive experiences and inspiring readers—and the fact that for two consecutive years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has been among the top 10 media outlets achieving excellence in digital transformation, have affirmed the spirit of innovation and creativity as well as the pioneering role of the newspaper, especially in the current new era which demands that journalism also develop accordingly and grow alongside the nation.
I highly appreciate and commend the efforts of the staff and reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper in recognizing that: Wherever Nhan Dan is, there is Nhan Dan Newspaper, setting the task of making the newspaper increasingly accessible, attractive, and practical, thereby better fulfilling the political role and nhiệm vụ of the Party's newspaper. The newspaper's supplements during the propaganda campaigns commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the exhibition "95 Years of the Party Flag Guiding the Way," the diverse and effective forms of propaganda about the 14th Party Congress, and the political and artistic program "The Fatherland in Our Hearts" have resonated with public opinion, contributing to the awakening of historical depth, fostering national pride, and affirming the people's profound faith in the Party's guidelines and policies. These are proofs of the great efforts and dedication of the comrades. Through this, the staff of Nhan Dan Newspaper has become increasingly mature, always maintaining political integrity, professional ethics, social responsibility, and a spirit of serving the Fatherland and the people; their professional skills and proficiency in using modern journalistic technologies have been continuously improved.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam congratulated and commended the generations of people working at Nhan Dan Newspaper for their continuous efforts in building a glorious tradition and achieving proud accomplishments; and congratulated the Party newspaper on receiving the First-Class Labor Medal, a prestigious award bestowed by the Party and State.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party requires: Strongly reforming the content and methods of ideological work; enhancing the fighting spirit, educational value, and persuasiveness in political and ideological propaganda and education. Strengthening the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the education of the Party's revolutionary traditions, in conjunction with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, and the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean, strong, and comprehensive.
In light of the demands of the new development phase, the General Secretary affirmed that the Nhan Dan Newspaper has an even heavier responsibility and needs to seriously acknowledge, assess, and accurately identify its limitations, challenges, and difficulties in order to further enhance its role as a sharp weapon and rightfully its position as the leading flag in the Party's ideological work. The General Secretary suggested several areas for the Nhan Dan Newspaper to implement in the coming period.
Firstly , the Nhan Dan Newspaper must leverage its strengths, traditions, and unique identity as a Party newspaper, functioning as the central mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the voice of the Party, the State, and the Vietnamese people. Based on a deep understanding of its role as the Party's political and ideological banner on the journalistic front and in cyberspace, what should the Nhan Dan Newspaper do and how should it continue to preserve and promote its glorious traditions, maintain its role and position as a leading unit in information and propaganda work, and guide public opinion? It must effectively fulfill its function as a sharp and effective ideological weapon to steadfastly uphold the principled guiding principles of Party leadership, Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the reform line, constantly supplementing and perfecting them to suit practical realities; promote strategic autonomy, establish a new development model, using development for stability, and stability to promote rapid and sustainable development. To improve the lives and happiness of the people; to firmly protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
Secondly , the Nhan Dan Newspaper must be a "shock unit," a "shield," and a "sensor station" for sharp, solid, quick, and thorough information gathering, provision, and guidance; it must adhere closely to its principles, objectives, and target audience. The Party newspaper must truly be a pioneer and exemplary, becoming a reliable companion for a wide range of readers; not only reflecting reality but also encouraging and inspiring faith, responsibility, and contributing to social consensus under the Party's leadership; spreading inspiration and guiding readers towards true, good, and beautiful values; promptly and resolutely combating fake news, harmful and distorted information; and simultaneously promoting kindness, positivity, and goodness in society. Especially for the Nhan Dan Newspaper, the spirit of serving the Fatherland, the Party, and the people; honesty; impartiality; and compassion must always be prioritized.
Thirdly , it is necessary to promote the leading role in contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system; resolutely addressing major, complex, and urgent issues of the country, of Party building and the political system. Attention should be paid to expanding and improving the quality of specialized pages and sections on implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and the strategic resolutions of the Politburo to create social consensus, high ideological unity, decisive action, and strict discipline; the Nhan Dan Newspaper should truly be a center of information, disseminating, guiding, and transforming aspirations into reality; contributing to the country's strong and steady progress in the era of national development and advancement towards socialism.
Fourth , science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation must truly become the driving force for the People's Newspaper to develop multimedia and multi-platform forms of journalism, truly dominating the digital and cyberspace, and truly becoming a newspaper that is "professional, humane, and modern." In the Party's ideological work, the Party newspaper must be the main, widespread, truly useful, and practical source of information to help cadres and Party members update important current events, serving as material for the purpose of researching Party history, while simultaneously propagating and disseminating the Party's new policies and guidelines, arousing the spirit of innovation and social responsibility in all strata of the people. Information from the Party and the State must reach every citizen in easily understandable language, in appropriate forms, and with a spirit of respect and empathy. The voice of the people – their concerns, aspirations, initiatives, and desires – must also be listened to and reflected truthfully and promptly to the responsible agencies.
Fifth , every reporter, editor, technician, and data expert is a "soldier" on the information front. Firm political conviction, impeccable professional ethics, modern digital skills, professional demeanor, and high discipline are the foundation for the People's Newspaper to excellently fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party. Each reporter and editor needs to persistently and resolutely defend the Party's ideological foundation, while always maintaining a calm, objective, and ethical attitude; persuading through the quality of content and effective service to the people.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his confidence that, with their glorious revolutionary tradition, the staff of Nhan Dan Newspaper will continue to build upon their valuable experience, affirm their faith and determination, strive to hone their political acumen, improve their professional skills, and make efforts to meet the demands of new tasks, contributing together with the entire Party, people, and army to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party for the goal of building a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism; striving to truly be the political and ideological banner of the Party on the journalistic front, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, the State, and the people.
