On the morning of September 30, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, the 12th Congress of the Military Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, officially took place. General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, attended and delivered a speech at the congress.

The 12th National Congress of the Party Committee of the Army is a particularly important milestone in the task of building and developing the army in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Firmness - Breakthrough - Development", the congress expressed its determination to build a clean and strong Party organization; to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern people's army, ready to receive and excellently complete all tasks, firmly protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, contribute to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, and build a rich, prosperous, civilized and happy country.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, said that over the past five years, the country has had many opportunities and advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges. In that context, the Party Committee of the Army has seriously grasped and concretized the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws into its action program.

The Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and Party committees and commanders at all levels have made efforts to overcome difficulties, have many policies and solutions to lead and direct the drastic implementation of all aspects of work, successfully completing the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Army. Among them, many tasks were completed excellently, some tasks were completed early, leaving outstanding marks.

The draft political report of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term identifies specific target groups and breakthroughs in the 2025-2030 term, including: synchronously perfecting military and defense institutions; effectively mobilizing resources to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern army; focusing on developing high-quality human resources; promoting the attraction and use of talents, building a team of cadres to meet the requirements of building a modern army; improving the quality of regular construction and discipline management; promoting the cultural values ​​of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the new period; promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; developing an autonomous, self-reliant, self-reliant, dual-use, and modern defense industry.
