May 10 Corporation

On the morning of January 12, 2024, at the Ha Quang Garment Factory in Quang Binh, the May 10 Garment Corporation signed an agreement to commence the installation of rooftop solar power to support production without relying on the national power grid.

Leaders from Quang Binh province attending the ceremony included Mr. Pham Quang Hai – Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade; Mr. Phan Van Thuong – Head of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; Mr. Pham Quang Anh – Secretary of the Party Committee of the Enterprise Bloc; and Mr. Pham Tien Nam – Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Representing May 10 Corporation were: Mr. Than Duc Viet - General Director; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy - Deputy General Director; Mr. Ha Manh - Executive Director; and Mr. Vo Xuan Trung - Director of Ha Quang Garment Factory.

The delegates included Mr. Sebastien Prioux - General Director of Green Yellow Vietnam; and Mr. Diep Thanh Thang - Director of Solarville Solar Power Company.

May 10 Corporation was formerly a military clothing manufacturing group established in 1946 in the Viet Bac war zone and relocated to Hanoi in 1956. With nearly 80 years of development, May 10 has consistently excelled in fulfilling its assigned tasks and exceeding its own targets, while affirming its position and making significant contributions to Vietnam's economic development.

Currently, May 10 has 18 member and joint venture companies located in 8 provinces and cities. Each year, May 10 produces approximately 30 million high-quality products such as shirts, suits, trousers, and jackets, providing stable employment for over 12,000 workers. The company primarily exports to the US, Europe, and Japan, while also operating hundreds of stores and dealerships nationwide to serve the domestic market.

With nearly 80 years of experience, May 10 has always been responsible to society and the community by producing environmentally friendly products aimed at sustainable development. The company has collaborated with reputable suppliers to produce fashion products from natural materials such as nano fabrics, bamboo fiber fabrics, oak wood, and coffee fiber fabrics. May 10 also invests in water recycling systems, boiler treatment, solar power, etc., and focuses on traceability of raw materials, meeting requirements for recycling, product lifecycle, clean materials, and high recyclability. May 10 also collaborates with customers and partners to implement green production, sustainable development, and circular economy requirements.

In recent years, the company has implemented numerous green production projects using renewable energy. For example, the Bim Son garment factory in Thanh Hoa has installed an 838 kWp solar power system, while the Vetston Hung Ha factory in Thai Binh has a capacity of 999.9 kWp. Today, January 12, 2024, the company also signed a cooperation agreement to invest in a renewable energy system at the Ha Quang garment factory, with a designed capacity of 639 kWp. In the future, the company will also implement similar projects at its headquarters in Hanoi and the Thai Ha factory in Thai Binh, as well as other units under the Corporation.

Thanks to its energy-saving and efficient practices, May 10 has received numerous awards, including "Green Energy 2022" and "Top 10 Strong Brands - Green Growth 2022-2023". May 10 was also honored as one of the "Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam in 2023".

The Hanoi People's Committee awarded May 10 the 5-star "Green Energy 2022" title to honor and demonstrate the project's achievement.
