The People's Army Newspaper reported that at Nguyen Hue walking street (Saigon ward), the Organizing Committee for the celebration of major holidays in Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

With the main theme “From the era of independence and national unification to the era of national rise”, the exhibition is a meaningful political and cultural activity, contributing to reviewing the glorious revolutionary struggle tradition of the nation, while affirming the achievements, position and aspirations for continuous development of the city named after Uncle Ho in the new era. The exhibition is displayed at the following locations: Nguyen Hue Street, Dong Khoi Street (in front of the City Department of Culture and Sports and opposite Chi Lang Park).

With more than 100 photos displayed on Nguyen Hue Street, the theme "From the era of independence and unification to the era of national rise" recreates the golden history of the nation through the August Revolution, the birth of the first worker-peasant state in Southeast Asia, and the journey of fighting for independence and national unification.
In the area in front of the Department of Culture and Sports , 70 photos with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City confidently moves towards a new era" reflect the dynamic and creative development journey of the city named after Uncle Ho; The space opposite Chi Lang Park offers a unique perspective through the theme "Colors of culture - tourism in Ho Chi Minh City".
Ho Chi Minh City speeds up the development of social housing
According to Lao Dong newspaper, the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUD) has officially started the HUD Thu Duc Social Housing Project in Residential Area No. 6, Hiep Binh Ward. This is one of the key projects to realize the Government 's policy of developing social housing, contributing to solving the urgent housing needs of low-income people and industrial park workers in the area.
The project consists of 3 blocks of 7-storey buildings, built on a 2-storey podium integrating public facilities, commercial facilities and modern parking lots. With a total floor area of nearly 30,000 m², the project provides 209 apartments with areas ranging from 51.5 m² to 69.5 m², providing accommodation for about 500 residents.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh said that according to the assigned target, Ho Chi Minh City needs to complete 194,297 social housing units from now until 2030, of which 13,040 units will be completed in 2025. The HUD Thu Duc project is a concrete step in the roadmap to achieve this important goal.
Earlier in August, the Ho Chi Minh City Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board started construction of a social housing project at 4 Phan Chu Trinh (Binh Thanh Ward). The project consists of 3 apartment blocks with a height of 20 floors, with a total of 864 apartments with an area of 40-76 m² (1-3 bedrooms). The project is expected to be completed in 2027, aiming to resettle people affected by the dredging project, environmental improvement, infrastructure construction of Xuyen Tam canal and other cases.
Wide alleys and open streets thanks to land donation movement
According to Phap Luat TP newspaper, in Tang Nhon Phu ward, the movement of donating land to open alleys is being responded to by the community, gradually turning the dream of a clear internal traffic network into reality. The meters of land that used to be gardens and banana trees have now given way to new spacious alleys.

According to Secretary of the Party Committee of Tang Nhon Phu Ward - Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung, the project to open the alley of inter-neighborhood 66-67-68 is one of the key projects implemented by the People and Party Cell of Ward 67, welcoming the 1st Ward Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. At the same time, the ward also inaugurated the project to upgrade Road No. 179, Ward 18; started the upgrade of Road No. 2 (Ward 56-57-58-66-67); inaugurated the AI Camera Center to monitor security, order, traffic safety... creating a new look for urban infrastructure.
In total, people donated thousands of square meters of land, worth nearly 50 billion VND, to upgrade and renovate 58 roads and alleys.
Secretary Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung affirmed: “Donating land to open roads and alleys must go hand in hand with planning management, infrastructure development, and the political tasks of the city and locality. We will continue to mobilize the strength of the entire people, and make planning transparent so that people can clearly see the long-term benefits of working together.”
