At noon on May 1, speaking with reporters of the Economic & Urban newspaper, Mr. Tran Hieu Hung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, said: Preliminary statistics up to noon on May 1, the province's total tourism revenue reached 166.4 billion VND, a slight increase of nearly 2% over the same period in 2023.

However, the total number of visitors on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 in 2024 is 212,258, down nearly 5% compared to the same period in 2023. Of which, the Traditional Cake Festival alone, some children's entertainment areas attracted up to 91,190 visitors. In addition, cultural and tourist sites are still the strength to attract a large number of visitors.

Typical are: Dat Mui tourist area: 15,609 visitors; Dat Mui community tourism: 13,678 visitors; Hon Da Bac tourist area: 11,024 visitors; Thu Duy eco-tourism area: 6,770 visitors; Huong Tram tourist site: 6,150 visitors; President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area and relic sites: 6,014 visitors; U Minh Ha National Park: 4,088 visitors; ECO eco-tourism site: 3,523 visitors; An Nhien eco-tourism site: 2,788 visitors; Khai Long tourist area: 2,195 visitors; Hoa Rung eco-tourism site: 1,840 visitors; Lang Sen eco-tourism site (new site): 1,701 visitors; Song Trem forestry and fishery site: 1,386 visitors; Fair visitors.

On this year's occasion, Ca Mau successfully organized a series of activities in the "Ca Mau - Destination 2024" event program to serve the political task of welcoming and commemorating the day of complete liberation and national reunification of the South on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1. Thereby, the above activities not only created a good spread of the political meaning of the holiday to the people, but also served as a highlight to attract tourists.

On this occasion, Ca Mau Province Book and Reading Culture Day 2024, U Minh Forest Fragrance Event 2024, the 4th Southern Folk Cake Festival were held with many activities such as: Karaoke singing festival "U Minh Forest Fragrance"; Cooking contest; image exhibition with the theme "U Minh - 45 years of a journey"; display of typical agricultural products; sports festival, folk games; folk cake making contest; organizing cultural and artistic activities every night; instructions on processing, displaying, and selling folk cakes; displaying OCOP products; images of Ca Mau tourism... The above diverse activities have created a tourism highlight, attracting nearly half of the total number of tourists to Ca Mau on this holiday" - Mr. Tran Hieu Hung added.
