These car models only sold one unit.
The Ford Explorer officially became the lowest-selling model in the market in September, with only one unit delivered to a customer. This situation is explained by Ford Vietnam temporarily suspending distribution of this large SUV model to prepare for the launch of a new generation or a replacement product. The recorded sales may come from the last remaining vehicles in dealership inventory.

Sharing the bottom spot with the Explorer is the Honda Civic Type R, also with only one unit sold. This high-performance model has a high price tag and is imported in limited quantities. Therefore, it was predictable that the Civic Type R wasn't aiming for mass sales; instead, its role was to build brand image.

The names waiting for the return.
Third on the list is the Toyota Innova with 4 units sold. Similar to the Ford Explorer, this MPV has temporarily ceased sales in Vietnam to make way for the new generation, expected to launch later this year with a hybrid engine option. These units were the last remaining at dealerships.

The Honda Accord also recorded modest sales of 5 units, moving out of the top 3 slowest-selling models. This D-segment sedan is struggling in an increasingly shrinking market, facing competitors with newer designs and technology while maintaining a high price point.

Challenges from specialized vehicle lines
The Suzuki Jimny and Ford Mustang Mach-E both recorded sales of 13 units. The Suzuki Jimny, with its distinctive off-road design and high price tag, is seen as more of an option for enthusiasts than a mainstream vehicle.

Meanwhile, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric SUV priced at over 2 billion VND. It's considered a showcase of Ford's technology in Vietnam, so its low sales figures are not surprising given the underdeveloped electric vehicle infrastructure.

Competition in the mass market segment
The rest of the list consists of models in familiar segments but are struggling to attract customers. The Isuzu mu-X, a 7-seater SUV, only sold 15 units despite having a price range from 928 million to 1.269 billion VND.

The Toyota Corolla Altis, once a very successful model, only achieved sales of 17 units. This C-segment sedan is facing fierce competition from rivals with more features and attractive prices. Finally, the two Korean models, Kia Soluto and Kia K5, recorded sales of 18 and 19 units respectively, closing out the list of the 10 slowest-selling car models in September.
