The luxury MPV model features a redesigned, more aggressive exterior and a more modern interior, making its global debut on June 21st.
The new generation Alphard was spotted in China filming a video for its world premiere on June 21st, according to Autohome, a car news website in the country.
The new generation Alphard adopts a new design language, featuring a large and aggressive grille, with chrome trim replacing the old dot-patterned design. The headlights have a refined, sharper design. The fog lights on either side are decorated with chrome and black trim, shaped like a pair of fangs.
The changes to the sides of the 2024 Alphard are more pronounced, with sharper creases below the windows. The Z-shaped crease under the B-pillar adds a distinctive, more个性化 touch. The vehicle features multi-spoke, two-tone alloy wheels and a privacy glass rear window. The rear of the vehicle has flat taillights using OLED bulbs. The taillights are connected by a glossy black trim, whereas the previous version had a chrome trim.
The interior features a newly designed dashboard in the Lexus style. It has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a touchscreen for the infotainment system, a touch-sensitive control panel, and rotary climate control knobs with LCD screens. The 2024 Alphard boasts a 7-seat interior with a 2+2+3 configuration. The second row features two independent seats with a new design. Each row has two independent touch-sensitive control panels. The vehicle also includes a sunroof and ambient ceiling lighting.
The new generation Alphard offers two engine options: a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a hybrid engine. The internal combustion engine option is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated I4 gasoline engine producing 205 horsepower and 250 Nm of maximum torque, paired with a 10-speed CVT transmission, and with a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The hybrid version combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 211 horsepower, paired with an e-CVT transmission and all-wheel drive.
The Toyota Alphard currently sold in Vietnam is the current generation, officially imported from Japan. It comes in a Luxury version priced at 4.37 billion VND.
