Ho Chi Minh City issues new garbage collection rates, applied by area from June 1

This regulation stipulates the form and specific price (funding level) that agencies, organizations, production, business and service establishments, investors in construction and business of infrastructure of concentrated production, business and service areas, industrial clusters, households and individuals must pay for the collection, transportation and treatment of household waste based on the quantity or volume of waste.

Garbage fees (including collection and transportation fees) will be collected monthly in the following areas:

For Thu Duc City and districts:

Households/waste source owners with a volume of domestic waste generated ≤ 126kg/month will pay 61,000 VND for collection and 23,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated from 126kg/month to 250kg/month pay 91,000 VND for collection and 34,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated from 250kg/month to 420kg/month pay 163,000 VND for collection and 60,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated over 420kg/month pay a collection fee of 485.97 VND/kg of waste and a transportation fee of 180.07 VND/kg of waste.

Binh Chanh and Cu Chi districts:

Households/waste source owners with a volume of domestic waste generated ≤ 126kg/month pay 57,000 VND for collection and 19,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated from 126kg/month to 250kg/month pay 85,000 VND for collection and 28,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated from 250kg/month to 420kg/month pay 152,000 VND for collection and 49,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated over 420kg/month pay a collection fee of 452.91 VND/kg of waste and a transportation fee of 147.07 VND/kg of waste.

Hoc Mon, Nha Be, Can Gio Districts:

Households/waste source owners with a volume of domestic waste generated ≤ 126kg/month pay 57,000 VND for collection and 23,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated from 126kg/month to 250kg/month pay 85,000 VND for collection and 34,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated from 250kg/month to 420kg/month pay 152,000 VND for collection and 60,000 VND for transportation.

Waste source owners with a volume of household waste generated over 420kg/month pay a collection fee of 452.91 VND/kg of waste and a transportation fee of 180.07 VND/kg of waste.

At this stage, the collection of domestic waste treatment service fees for group 1 subjects including households, individuals and small waste sources has not been implemented.

For large waste sources, there will be additional waste treatment fees. In Thu Duc City and districts, it is 420.45 VND/kg of waste. In Hoc Mon, Nha Be, Can Gio districts, it is 420.45 VND/kg of waste. In Cu Chi and Binh Chanh districts, it is 420.45 VND/kg of waste.

The above amounts do not include output value added tax. During the implementation process, output value added tax rates will be applied according to current regulations.

New garbage fee applied from June 1

This fee is applied from June 1. This fee is applied when Ho Chi Minh City has not yet implemented waste classification according to the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection.

At the same time, this collection level is applied uniformly to each area, unlike before when the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a floor price, on that basis each district and county built a price level for its locality, so each locality has a different collection level.
