Ho Chi Minh City announces 10th grade exam results.

The results of the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City were announced on the morning of June 20th and are updated on VnExpress. Candidates can check their results using their registration number.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the score distribution for the three subjects of Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language did not change much compared to the previous year.

In Mathematics, nearly 55% of the exam papers scored above average, commonly in the 5-7 point range. The number of candidates achieving a perfect score of 10 was lower than last year. In Literature, approximately 90% of the exam papers scored above average, with over 12% scoring 8 points or higher. The highest score in this subject was 9.25.

In the Foreign Language subject, approximately 32% of the exam papers received excellent scores (8 points or higher), the highest among the three basic subjects. The number of candidates achieving a perfect score of 10 was over 1,900, a significant increase compared to 478 in 2022.

After receiving their exam scores, candidates wishing to appeal can submit their applications at the junior high school where they studied in 9th grade, from June 21st to 24th. The appeal results will be announced on June 30th.

On June 24th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the cutoff scores for specialized and integrated 10th-grade classes, as well as the list of candidates admitted directly. The cutoff scores for regular (mass) 10th-grade classes and the list of admitted students will be announced on July 10th.

Last year, about 45% of candidates taking the entrance exam for public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City scored below average in Math and English. Nearly 90% of candidates scored 5 or higher in Literature.

This year, out of nearly 96,000 candidates, approximately 77,300 will be admitted (80%). Many teachers predict that the cut-off scores for 10th grade in Ho Chi Minh City this year could be above 25 points for top-tier schools, 16-22 points for mid-tier schools, and above 11 points for schools in the suburbs. This is an increase of 0.5-1 point compared to last year.
