On January 1st, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a plan to promote research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) from research and testing environments to widespread application in society in the city by 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has set the goal of effectively implementing the contents of the AI research and development program, striving to make the city a leading center nationwide in research, testing, application, and development of AI technology platforms. The aim is to ensure that by 2030, 100% of departments, agencies, districts, and Thu Duc City have AI applications serving state management.
Specifically for the Department of Education and Training, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, assigned the education sector the task of focusing on researching technologies and solutions such as:
- The virtual teacher app is designed to answer common student questions such as lesson plans, course modules, and assignments. The virtual teacher can track student progress through one-on-one tutoring, provide personalized feedback to each participant, and recommend more relevant learning content by analyzing students' learning skills and areas for improvement.
- The Department of Education and Training is focusing on researching technologies and solutions applicable to career guidance, using AI to analyze and evaluate students' academic performance, interests, goals, and the needs of the labor market. From this, it predicts and advises students on choosing schools and careers.
- Student management: using AI to analyze information on academic performance, school health, psychological well-being, entertainment needs, etc., in order to make recommendations for improving learning effectiveness.
High school students are introduced to virtual assistants based on artificial intelligence.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City has assigned the Department of Education and Training to take the lead and coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and other relevant units to implement online training and knowledge enhancement on AI.
At the request of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the aforementioned departments and agencies are coordinating to develop an online training program to enhance AI knowledge for the community, from basic to advanced levels, ensuring suitability for different target groups and social strata. The AI training program will be integrated into an online platform.
