Hue City significantly increases enrollment quota for 10th grade.

GD&TĐ - Faced with a sudden surge in the number of 9th-grade students, the People's Committee of Hue City has decided to significantly increase the enrollment quota for 10th-grade students in public high schools.

According to statistics, in the 2025-2026 school year, Hue City will have 18,515 ninth-grade students, an increase of 5,864 students compared to the previous school year. This increase has created significant pressure on the education system, especially in the enrollment process for tenth grade.

To meet practical needs, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City has approved the targets for education and training development for the next school year. Specifically, the entire city has 40 high schools (including 3 private schools) conducting high school enrollment with a total target of 17,579 students in grade 10.

This is a significant adjustment, because in previous years, the total enrollment quota for 10th grade was usually less than 14,000. In addition, the Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers were also assigned the task of enrolling approximately 1,520 students.

In order to ensure sufficient school places for the increasing number of students, the Department of Education and Training of Hue City has advised the People's Committee of Hue City to implement a number of comprehensive solutions.

Specifically, the Education sector will maximize resources and coordinate with other units to arrange and utilize surplus facilities after the reorganization of the administrative apparatus. High schools will receive financial support to renovate and add new classrooms, ready for teaching and learning.

In addition, schools are required to proactively review and rearrange functional rooms, prioritizing their conversion into classrooms to accommodate 10th-grade students.

Following the enrollment period, the review and upgrading of facilities will continue to ensure stable and long-term teaching conditions.

The Education sector also directed vocational and continuing education centers to proactively prepare both their teaching staff and facilities to be ready to receive students according to the assigned quotas.

With increased enrollment quotas and thorough preparation of learning conditions, Hue City is making every effort to reduce stress for the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam, helping students and parents feel more at ease before the start of the new school year.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Hue City is scheduled to take place from May 27th to 29th. Results for public schools will be announced at the end of June or beginning of July to align with the schedule of the high school graduation exam.
