In the last days of the year, traffic and park projects in Thu Dau Mot City are speeding up construction progress. However, many projects are still facing difficulties due to site clearance and compensation. The city is actively mobilizing people to accept the compensation price and hand over the site to the construction unit for the common good.

It is noted that currently, construction projects in Thu Dau Mot City are being accelerated by the construction unit; some projects have been completed and put into use, creating a spacious, clean and beautiful appearance for the urban area. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, a resident of Phu Cuong Ward, shared that currently, the roads have sidewalks and drainage manholes that have been replaced with new ones, which are very aesthetic and safe for people to travel. The park in the city center has been upgraded after many years of use, making the city's appearance spacious, clean and beautiful. In particular, the extended Nguyen Tri Phuong Street and the park along the Saigon River have just been put into use, opening up more space for people to come and play, exercise, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Dien Trung, Director of the Thu Dau Mot City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the city currently has 20 projects under construction. Specifically, the project to transfer investment in sidewalks, trees, lighting systems, and drainage systems on Huynh Van Luy Street is about to complete compensation for affected households; the project to upgrade and expand the D13 subdivision road from 30/4 Street to An Thanh 24 Street, Phu Tho Ward is facing difficulties due to land issues, some households at the beginning of the route have not agreed to receive money and hand over the land. At the project to upgrade and expand the road to the resettlement area of Phu My Ward, up to now, the traffic category has constructed the stone layer of the sidewalk and road surface. This project is facing difficulties due to the interruption in handing over the land, some households have not agreed to hand over the land.
Up to now, the progress of the project to upgrade and expand Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, from Thu Ngu Bridge to Thay Nang Bridge and the Bau Bang - Van Cong Khai branch line, the construction progress of the adjusted park item has reached over 95%. The traffic lighting and adjustment item has installed street lighting poles, cleaned the parking lot floor, etc.
Thu Dau Mot City is "standardizing" all traffic sidewalks to beautify the urban area.
Need coordination and cooperation of all parties
One of the projects that Thu Dau Mot City residents are very interested in is the construction of a retaining wall to reinforce the Saigon River bank, from Thu Ngu Bridge to Bay Tra Canal, Chanh Nghia Ward. However, up to now, the construction work has been slow. The authorities have issued a document reminding and correcting the construction unit. Currently, the construction unit is speeding up the implementation progress according to the city's requirements.
Mr. Nguyen Dien Trung said that in some projects such as: Investment in sidewalks, trees, drainage, lighting on Huynh Van Luy street; road from Huynh Van Luy to Dong Cay Viet street; upgrading and expanding Bui Ngoc Thu street; upgrading and expanding the road to the resettlement area of Phu My ward... currently, some households have not yet handed over the land, affecting the construction progress of the project. In addition, in some infrastructure projects of resettlement areas in the planning area for the construction of hospitals and some state works; the park project at the intersection of Cach Mang Thang Tam street - Ngo Quyen street..., the City Construction Investment Project Management Board has sent documents reminding the construction units to speed up the progress.
“The projects and works are still facing difficulties mainly due to site clearance, many households do not agree to hand over the site or have forced the handover of the site but still often cause difficulties for the construction unit. In addition, the relocation of technical infrastructure is still slow, affecting the progress of the project. Another reason is the complicated geology, during the process of digging the basement, underground water often rises, affecting the progress of the implementation, as well as causing subsidence and cracks in the foundations of some households near the project. The construction units have been and are making efforts to overcome and keep up with the progress,” said Mr. Nguyen Dien Trung.
To contribute to overcoming the above difficulties, the Thu Dau Mot City Construction Investment Project Management Board is strengthening the monitoring, inspection, and urging of construction progress, requiring contractors to concentrate on labor and construction machinery shifts to achieve the set progress and volume. At the same time, the Management Board continues to coordinate with relevant agencies, departments, and sectors to remove difficulties in legal procedures, site clearance, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Dien Trung, Director of Thu Dau Mot City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that by the end of November 2024, the disbursed capital for public investment projects in the area was more than 344 billion VND, reaching more than 56% of the annual plan. The city continuously urged and closely monitored a number of projects and works to complete, contributing to the urban beautification of the city on the occasion of the New Year of At Ty 2025 and serving the festival season in 2025.
