Ho Chi Minh City launches mass literacy campaign.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Through the digital literacy campaign, Ho Chi Minh City aims to popularize knowledge and equip all segments of the population, especially vulnerable groups, with basic digital knowledge and skills.

On the morning of October 11th, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Science and Technology , and the Center for Digital Transformation, organized the launching ceremony of the Digital Literacy Movement for the period 2025-2026. Through this launching ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to strongly spread the message that every citizen is a key figure in digital transformation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasized that the digital literacy movement has particularly important significance in the new phase.

Ho Chi Minh City aims to popularize knowledge and equip all segments of the population, especially vulnerable groups, with basic digital knowledge and skills, ensuring that no one is left behind in the national digital transformation process.

"The digital literacy movement is a call to arms for a new revolution in knowledge and skills in the digital age, a task of historical significance and a mission of our time," said the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the city's goal by 2026 is for 100% of adults to have basic knowledge of digital transformation, digital skills, and be proficient in using smart devices to access information and utilize essential digital platforms and services.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Pham Minh Tuan, affirmed that the digital literacy movement is a fundamental step, helping people master technology and transform digital knowledge into intrinsic strength to successfully implement resolutions and improve and enhance the quality of life.

The leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City pledged that they, along with their member organizations, will take the lead in implementing the digital literacy movement for the 2025-2026 period effectively and comprehensively; building volunteer teams to carry out the movement as a core, creative, and pioneering force in spreading digital knowledge to all levels of the population.

During the launch of the digital literacy campaign, Ho Chi Minh City focused on guiding and disseminating information on several essential digital platforms and services, as well as instructing users on the use of the "Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen Application," and other important applications such as VNeID, VSSID, and e-wallets.

The city is also replicating models such as "Digital Family," "Digital Ambassador," "Digital Market," "Every Citizen - A Digital Identity," and especially the "Morning Coffee - Exchange with the People, Disseminate and Update Digital Skills" model.
