According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , during this year's holiday season, the number of visitors to tourist attractions and entertainment areas in Ho Chi Minh City is estimated at approximately 980,000, an increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2023 (approximately 960,000).
The number of domestic and international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City also increased. Specifically, the number of domestic tourists is estimated at approximately 425,000, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2023 (420,000 in 2023), and the number of international tourists is estimated at approximately 38,800, an increase of 3.2% compared to the same period in 2023 (37,600 in 2023).

Specifically, the number of guests staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at approximately 214,630, an increase of 32.5% compared to the same period in 2023 (162,000 in 2023). Occupancy rates are estimated at approximately 85%, an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period in 2023 (80% in 2023).
During this holiday period, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism revenue is estimated to reach 2,940 billion VND, an increase of 1.7% compared to the same period in 2023 (2023 was 2,890 billion VND).
One of the outstanding tourism products in Ho Chi Minh City during this period is the tour program to visit the national-level architectural and artistic heritage site of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee Headquarters, implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism in coordination with other departments and agencies under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
The program, implemented on August 31st and September 1st, welcomed 1,848 domestic and international visitors in a thoughtful and safe manner.
This activity promotes the history of the city's formation and development, contributes to building and developing the Ho Chi Minh City brand, continues to build the image of a friendly and open Ho Chi Minh City government, and aims to develop unique and distinctive tourism products associated with historical and cultural heritage.

The Department of Tourism also stated that the long holiday period provides a basis for an increase in tourists during National Day. The main tourist groups during this holiday are mostly families, young people, or middle-aged people who were unable to arrange time to travel during the summer.
In Ho Chi Minh City, travel companies continue to develop attractive and diverse tourism products associated with the unique tourism products of Thu Duc City and the 21 districts/wards, such as tours linking neighboring localities, traditional tours, ecotourism, community tourism, green tourism, high-end resort tourism, and resort tourism combined with health training programs, sports activities, meditation, etc.
Tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City are also quite vibrant, with many attractive offers to meet the needs of visitors.
The Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site is offering a 30% discount on entrance tickets for group visitors, along with promotional programs, exhibitions, displays of historical and cultural artifacts, and performances of unique folk art.
Dam Sen Cultural Park offers free entry for those celebrating their birthday on September 2nd and a 50% discount for those with birthdays in September. They also organize low-altitude fireworks displays, a series of artistic programs such as the "Colors of Five Continents" parade on the streets, and various circus performances including aerial balancing and tightrope walking.
Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Park is giving away 2,000 entrance tickets, featuring circus performances, water shows, and especially opportunities to experience and enjoy many rare fruit tree varieties.

According to travel agencies, due to the 4-day holiday, tourists usually travel for 3 to 5 days. The preferred domestic destinations for this year's holiday are Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Da Nang , the North, and the Central Highlands.
In addition, countries near Vietnam such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and China are attracting many tourists because airfares are more affordable during this period compared to before.
