Ho Chi Minh City carries out many gratitude activities at sea and islands

Continuing the gratitude activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard force towards the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on the morning of July 25, Con Dao Border Guard Station, Can Thanh Border Guard Station and Ben Da Border Guard Station under the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard coordinated with agencies and organizations to organize many meaningful and practical activities to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and families with meritorious services to the revolution.

In Con Dao special zone, Con Dao Border Guard Station organized working delegations to visit and present gifts (worth 1,500,000 VND) to 3 families of martyrs in the area. Next, the Con Dao Border Guard Station Youth Union coordinated with other youth unions in the special zone to organize the decoration of tombstones and clean up the Hang Duong Cemetery area.

In Vung Tau ward, Ben Da Border Guard Station coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and the Veterans Association of Vung Tau ward to visit and present 5 gifts (worth 2.5 million VND) to families of martyrs, wounded soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, they organized a meeting and presented gifts to 3 officers and soldiers in the unit who are children of wounded soldiers.

In Can Gio commune, officers and soldiers of Can Thanh Border Guard Station coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and the Veterans Association of Can Gio commune to organize a program to show gratitude and give gifts to families with meritorious services, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, and relatives of martyrs in Can Gio commune with a total value of 50 million VND. Next, officers and soldiers of Can Thanh Border Guard Station offered incense, flowers, and visited the Rung Sac Martyrs Cemetery and the Rung Sac Heroes and Martyrs Temple.

These are activities of profound humanistic significance, demonstrating the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, the gratitude and appreciation of the current generation for the great contributions of previous generations. Thereby, aiming to educate revolutionary traditions, foster the sense of responsibility of the youth, join hands to preserve and promote the value of historical relics, and better care for families with preferential policies and people with revolutionary contributions.
