Exciting competition at the 9th "For National Security" Sports Congress

The opening ceremony of the 9th "For National Security" Sports Congress and the 6th Public Security Command, Military and Martial Arts Competition took place at 8:10 p.m. on July 26 at My Dinh National Stadium.

More than 16,000 officers and soldiers participate in the Health Congress 'For National Security'

The 9th "For National Security" Health Congress and the 6th Public Security Command, Military and Martial Arts Competition were organized by the Ministry of Public Security to widely propagate and educate officers, soldiers and people about the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).

The event also aims to demonstrate the force, promote the emulation movement "For National Security" and encourage officers and soldiers to actively study and practice to improve their political qualities and sense of responsibility, contributing to building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern public security force.

This is also an opportunity to evaluate the development of the physical training and sports movement in the People's Public Security Forces in the 5-year period (2020 - 2025); evaluate the results and quality of training in regulations, military training, and martial arts in the entire force; contribute to raising awareness of compliance with the People's Public Security Forces' regulations and promoting the movement of physical training and sports to improve health, enhance physical strength and combat readiness of officers and soldiers.

The Health Congress and Competition will be held from August 2024 to August 2025 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Lam Dong and Phu Tho. In which, phase 1 will organize competitions in applied running, healthy police officers, 7-a-side men's football qualifying round, volleyball, tennis, applied swimming in the Health Congress program and regulations, martial arts, military in the Competition program in 4 regions.

The local police units participating in the Health Congress organized nearly 200 activities, events, and sports tournaments, mobilizing 16,256 officers and soldiers to compete in order to select and form participating delegations. The total number of athletes and coaches participating in phase 1 was 4,073 officers and soldiers from 97 delegations. There were 83 delegations participating in the competition, with more than 7,000 officers and soldiers participating.

Thereby, it shows that the sports and command, military and martial arts movements at the Police units and localities have been invested in all aspects, and the level and quality of expertise have been improved.

Within the framework of the Health Congress and Competition program in the regions, the organizing committee has promoted propaganda work, organized many performance activities, exchanges of brass music, cavalry, motorcycles, qigong, demolition, VIP protection, terrorist capture... attracting a large number of people to follow and support.

Exciting competition in the final round

In phase 2 in 2025, the Health Congress will organize competitions in the professional sport of firefighting and rescue, including preliminary rounds in localities, qualifying rounds in 8 regions and the final round held in Hanoi from May 28 to 30, with 320 athletes from 18 teams of the fire prevention, firefighting and rescue police forces of localities across the country participating.

Organize competitions in table tennis, badminton, chess and the final round of men's 7-a-side football from July 24 to August 1 in Hanoi. It is expected that 97 delegations, with nearly 2,000 delegation leaders, coaches and athletes will participate.

Regarding the Competition, the final round of the Competition includes 26 teams, with 2,200 officers and soldiers participating, selected from 83 teams competing in the qualifying round.

The opening ceremony of the Health Congress and Competition will take place at 8:10 p.m. on July 26 at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi). The closing ceremony of the Health Congress and Competition will take place at 3:30 p.m. on August 1 at the Great Hall of the Ministry of Public Security, 47 Pham Van Dong, Hanoi.

Regarding professional work, the Ministry of Public Security coordinates with the Vietnam Sports Department, national and local sports federations and associations to arrange a team of highly qualified referees to participate in competition management; prepare facilities, equipment, tools and conditions to ensure competition organization.

Regarding security and health work, the Ministry of Public Security directed the police of relevant units and localities to develop plans and mobilize forces to synchronously deploy professional measures to ensure absolute security and safety for the Sports Congress and Competition.
