Awarding ceremony of UPU letter writing competition

On December 6, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office held a ceremony to summarize and award the 36th UPU letter writing contest. This is an annual contest organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for children aged 15 and under across all continents to develop writing skills and understand the role of the postal industry... Result: Ho Bao Duy, a 9/3 student at Le Van Tam Secondary School (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) won first prize at the national level with the topic of protecting the wild environment. In addition, 4 consolation prizes went to students from 2 secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Lu (District 9) and Phu My (Binh Thanh District).

The students who won the official prize will receive the same standard as the national literature students and the first and second prize winners will be awarded the "Creative Youth" badge by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the contest in Vietnam also announced the theme of the 37th UPU letter writing contest as "Write a letter to someone to explain why the world needs tolerance". Entries will be accepted from now until January 30, 2008 at 125 Hai Ba Trung (HCMC) and until February 15, 2008 at 5 Hoa Ma (Hanoi).
