Smart City 2024 - Smart City Building Initiative is an annual innovation and startup competition at Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, organized by the High-Tech Business Incubator (SHTP-IC), launched in October 2024.

This year, the competition had 100 teams registered to participate. Through preliminary rounds, the organizing committee selected more than 60 potential projects from young people from universities across the country.

The Smart City 2024 competition is of great significance in exploring the potential of the young intellectual community and technology start-up projects and businesses. Thereby, creating human resources to implement the development orientation of building smart cities.

In addition, the competition also has a competition board for students with the theme of assembling and programming robots to help them access STEMeducation early, applying knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in specific contexts. The activity aims to connect schools, communities, workplaces and global organizations, thereby developing competencies in the field of STEM.

At the final round held on the afternoon of December 18, the teams presented their projects, products and business models to a panel of judges, including experts in the fields of technology, innovative startups. The projects were completed and developed with ideas and products and had the opportunity to receive valuable prizes from sponsors and participate in the pre-incubation program at SHTP-IC.

The representative of the organizing committee said that Ho Chi Minh City is currently focusing on building models and cooperation methods to create an industrial transformation ecosystem, integrating digital transformation and green transformation. At the same time, the impacts of population growth and environmental pollution have promoted the development of a circular economy towards sustainable development.

First Prize: Project to develop a website for screening for congenital hemolytic anemia Thalassemia based on artificial intelligence platform.
Second Prize: Drone Soccer Vietnam Project - Smart education and training system in the field of drones.
Third Prize: VierCycle Project - Electric bicycle ecosystem.
Encouragement Prize: E-Motion Project - Electric power steering and 5Sao Project - Number one application connecting construction, home care, minor repairs, and calling contractors.

First Prize: Project on Production of high-density probiotics and application of probiotics to create biological products for environmental protection agriculture.
Second Prize: Bio Garlic HD Project - Project on fermented microbial products from black garlic - green solution for Vietnam's livestock industry.
Third Prize: USH Oncology Project - Building software to help diagnose, predict, and treat liver cancer early.
