General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Politburo had unanimously agreed to assign Mr. Tran Cam Tu to the position of Standing Member of the Secretariat.
On October 25th, at the Party Central Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat held a ceremony to present the decision assigning Mr. Tran Cam Tu, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, to the position of Standing Member of the Secretariat, replacing Mr. Luong Cuong, member of the Politburo and Standing Member of the Secretariat, who was elected President of the Republic by the National Assembly .

Also attending were members of the Politburo, members of the Secretariat, and representatives from the Central Organization Department, the Central Inspection Commission, and the Central Party Office.
At the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam presented Decision No. 1616-QDNS/TW dated October 25, 2024, of the Politburo assigning Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, to the position of Standing Member of the Secretariat of the 13th Party Congress and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, and presented flowers to congratulate Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
In his remarks assigning the task, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Politburo had unanimously agreed to appoint Mr. Tran Cam Tu to the position of Standing Member of the Secretariat. This is an important task in the context of the entire Party actively preparing for congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party.
The Politburo has complete confidence in Mr. Tran Cam Tu, a high-ranking leader who has received basic training, risen through the ranks from the grassroots, possesses deep expertise and extensive work experience, and has held many important leadership positions in the Party at the central and local levels.
In particular, in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, he, together with the collective of the Central Inspection Commission, successfully carried out the tasks of inspection, supervision, and advising the Politburo and the Secretariat on considering, concluding, and promptly and strictly handling many new, difficult, complex, and serious cases, making an important contribution to the success of Party building and rectification and the political system, as well as the fight against corruption and negative phenomena in the past period.
General Secretary To Lam requested that Mr. Tran Cam Tu quickly familiarize himself with and effectively fulfill the responsibilities and duties of the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee as stipulated in the Working Regulations of the 13th Party Central Committee, Politburo, and Party Central Committee; work with the General Secretary to lead and direct the effective handling of the Party's daily affairs; direct the Party Central Office and relevant agencies to effectively implement the work program; and direct and coordinate the activities of the Party apparatus at the central level, ensuring the smooth, unified, and synchronized operation of the political system.
For the time being, he is focusing on directing the Central Party Office and related agencies to successfully complete the preparations for the Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress. The leaders of the Central Party Office and related agencies will continue to support, coordinate with, and assist Comrade Tran Cam Tu in successfully fulfilling his assigned tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Cam Tu respectfully thanked General Secretary To Lam, the Politburo, and the Secretariat for entrusting him with this important task of the Party. This is a recognition, encouragement, and also a requirement for him to continue striving, training, and making every effort to fulfill the assigned task.
Mr. Tran Cam Tu emphasized that this is a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility at a time when the whole country is focusing its efforts on successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party; actively carrying out the preparatory work for party congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party, a Congress that marks a new stage of development for the country, an era of national progress.
Aware of the honor and responsibility entrusted to him, Mr. Tran Cam Tu affirmed that he will continuously uphold a sense of responsibility and political acumen, inheriting and developing the experience of his predecessors to meet the increasingly high demands of the Party and the people. With a large workload, Mr. Tran Cam Tu hopes to continue receiving the cooperation, sharing, support, and assistance of agencies and units to successfully complete his tasks.
