This is the result of cooperation between FPT University and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) - the largest university of applied sciences in Finland, a country that is always rated among the top in the world for education quality.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Maija Seppälä – Chargé d’Affaires, Counsellor of the Embassy of Finland in Vietnam; representatives of FPT Software, FPT Corporation; Dr. Hoang Viet Ha – President of FPT International University, FPT Corporation; along with lecturers, staff of the Institute, representatives of enterprises and delegations from Metropolia University.

Not only famous for being ranked at the top of global rankings such as OECD's PISA or World Economic Forum reports, Finnisheducation is admired by international organizations for its training philosophy focusing on innovation, developing comprehensive thinking skills, applying smart technology and global adaptability. The applied university model - a characteristic of Finland, especially values the connection between academia and practice to create solutions, has created outstanding value in training high-quality human resources.

In the first year of implementation, the program recruited 100 students in the Information Technology industry in Hanoi .

Speaking at the event, Ms. Maija Seppälä highly appreciated the cooperation between the two schools and affirmed that this is a typical model of international educational cooperation between Finland and Vietnam: “The Finnish university of applied sciences model creates a close connection between education and professional practice, helping students to both acquire academic knowledge and experience a real working environment during their studies. With this program, Vietnamese students will access advanced education that emphasizes innovation and puts learners at the center - especially in areas such as information technology and digitalization. This is an important foundation for developing high-quality human resources for Vietnam, Finland and the world.”

In the first year of implementation, the program will enroll 100 students in the Information Technology major in Hanoi. In order to support and encourage talented new students, 100% of students will receive scholarships with many valuable scholarships with support levels of up to 50% of tuition fees for the entire specialized study period. This will create conditions for students to study an international-class program at a very reasonable tuition fee. Scholarships are considered based on academic achievement, community contribution and individual development potential.

Students studying in Vietnam will receive a university degree directly from Metropolia University of Finland with an English-taught program that is completely identical in content and teaching methods to the program in Finland. The teaching staff all have international qualifications from Metropolia Finland.

In addition, the program also applies a practical training model linked to businesses and global output standards. This is a program that combines the technological strengths of the FPT Group ecosystem and the leading innovative and creative applied education philosophy from Finland.

Dr. Hoang Viet Ha - President of FPT International University, FPT Corporation shared: "Not only do students learn and practice in the technology ecosystem of FPT Corporation - where digital infrastructure, real-life projects and a global business network converge. In addition, opportunities for exchange, internship and work in Finland and Europe are also integrated into the program - helping students both study and accumulate practical international experience." He emphasized that this is an educational model that trains global citizens - where students are trained in creative thinking, innovation, adaptability and working in a multicultural environment.

With a solid academic foundation and comprehensive integration orientation, “Finland Metropolia Vietnam” is a bridge to help Vietnamese students receive an international bachelor's degree from Metropolia University (Finland) with global value: “The training content is designed to closely follow modern career trends, focusing on rapidly developing fields such as software technology and IoT. Modern teaching methods, emphasizing practice, creativity and connection with businesses are the highlights that make the program different.” - Dr. Hoang Viet Ha also affirmed.

As a representative of the business accompanying the program, Ms. Vu Quynh Anh - representative of FPT Software, FPT Corporation shared about the connection between the school and the business in developing practical skills for students. She said that FPT will play an important role in supporting students through international internship programs. "We are implementing the Global Internship Program, creating conditions for international students to do summer internships, work directly with global customers and be advised by senior experts. In practice, we have found that students from international cooperation programs like this often stand out with good communication skills, confident use of English and quick adaptation to project-based learning methods, which are very suitable for the modern working environment," she emphasized.

Mr. Ville Jääskeläinen – Lecturer, Technology Engineer, Head of the Master of Information Technology Program, School of Information Technology & Information Management, Metropolia University (Finland) expressed his hope for long-term development between the two schools. He said that after the Information Technology major, the program could expand to other fields in the future. “Both schools share a common mission: to train successful citizens who are adaptable and lead innovation in a global society.”

“Finland Metropolia Vietnam” is not only a high-quality education option with reasonable costs and attractive scholarship policies, but also a strategic step in training a generation of young human resources with creative thinking, integration capacity and readiness to adapt to the global labor market. “Applied learning – Global work” is the core spirit that the program aims for.
