During the dialogue, Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized that the agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries during British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to China earlier this year have shaped a new direction for bilateral relations.
The British Foreign Secretary affirmed that exchanges and cooperation in many areas are gradually returning to normal, and called on both sides to increase high-level contacts to achieve more substantive results.
Wang Yi also expressed hope that the UK would provide a fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises, creating a favorable atmosphere for the development of bilateral relations and deepening cooperation.
For her part, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper stated that the agreement between the leaders of the two countries to build a long-term, stable, comprehensive strategic partnership is very important and in the best interests of both sides.

In the context of the current complex international situation, the two countries need to strengthen dialogue and cooperation to jointly address challenges. The UK affirmed its desire to maintain close high-level exchanges with China, the bilateral dialogue mechanism, and expand cooperation in the areas of trade, finance, energy, artificial intelligence, and climate change response.
London also expressed its willingness to address differences constructively through frank dialogue, thereby promoting the stable and healthy development of UK-China relations.
In addition to bilateral cooperation, the two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Iran, the conflict in Ukraine, and other international and regional issues of mutual concern.
