The entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools in Hanoi for the 2026-2027 school year is fast approaching. These days, preparations are intensifying in localities. From facilities, exam venues, and exam rooms to security and safety plans and support for candidates, everything is being urgently reviewed and finalized, aiming to organize a serious, transparent, and compliant exam, while creating the most favorable conditions for candidates.

Emphasize the spirit of proactiveness.

Following the directives of the Hanoi City Examination and Admission Steering Committee for the 2016-2027 school year, communes and wards are urgently implementing various tasks, from reviewing facilities and developing organizational plans to mobilizing coordinating forces to serve the examination. A proactive and cautious approach is emphasized at every stage to ensure the 10th grade entrance examination takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.

In Hoai Duc commune, preparations for the exam were carried out systematically, with clear assignments of tasks and responsibilities. The entire commune has 880 students registered to take the exam, including 2 independent candidates. The remaining 166 students who did not register have proactively chosen suitable paths such as vocational training at secondary or college-level schools combined with general education, or applying for admission to private high schools or vocational training centers.

According to local assessments, these results show that the work of disseminating information, providing career guidance, and directing students is gradually becoming effective, aligning with the abilities and actual needs of students and parents. In addition, the entire commune has 4 students eligible for direct admission and 24 students eligible for priority admission; all necessary documents have been completed in accordance with regulations.

According to a representative from the People's Committee of Hoai Duc commune, preparations for the exam are progressing on schedule under the close guidance of the local Party committee and government, ensuring seriousness, safety, and compliance with legal regulations.

In addition to focusing on organization, many localities are also stepping up activities to support candidates before the exam. In Tam Hung commune, recognizing the immense importance of the 10th-grade entrance exam, the commune's Youth Union has developed a plan to implement the "Exam Support Program" with many practical activities.

According to Nguyen Thi Quynh Thu, Secretary of the Tam Hung Commune Youth Union, promoting the pioneering spirit of young people with the motto "wherever youth are needed, youth will be there; whatever is difficult, youth will overcome it," the Youth Union members will participate in supporting candidates at examination sites, contributing to giving them more motivation to confidently enter the exam.

Meanwhile, in Nghia Do ward, preparations for the exam are also being carried out urgently. Statistics show that in the ward, there are 1,687 ninth-grade students registered to take the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year, coming from the following junior high schools: Nguyen Binh Khiem, Ha Thanh,FPT Cau Giay, Everest, Pascal, Nghia Tan, and Le Quy Don.

According to Hoang Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Nghia Do Ward People's Committee, the Ward's Examination and Admission Steering Committee has completed assigning tasks to each member; and has coordinated the deployment of teachers to participate in invigilation and marking as requested by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

In addition, the ward also established inspection teams to check the facilities at examination sites, waiting areas, and grading points in order to promptly review and supplement the conditions for serving the exam.

Creating the most favorable conditions for candidates.

With the exams fast approaching, the city has placed particular emphasis on ensuring that the exams are conducted safely and seriously, while still providing maximum convenience for candidates and parents.

At the meeting of the Hanoi City Steering Committee for examinations and admissions for the 2026-2027 school year, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha (Head of the Steering Committee for examinations and admissions for the 2026-2027 school year) requested that units and localities closely monitor the situation in their areas, develop detailed plans for each stage, proactively handle any arising situations, and ensure that the examinations are conducted smoothly, safely, and effectively.

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, as of now, most examination centers have basically met the requirements regarding facilities and equipment as stipulated. For examination centers that remain unmet due to factors such as proximity to residential areas, busy roads, or ongoing renovations, solutions have been implemented to ensure security and safety.

According to the plan, the entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools will take place on May 30th and 31st with three independent exams: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language. The specialized subject exam will be held on June 1st, immediately after candidates complete the three subjects of the entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools.

With nearly 125,000 registered candidates, the organization of the exam received special attention. The city arranged 224 examination centers with 5,300 examination rooms; and mobilized nearly 18,000 officials, teachers, and staff to participate in the examination process. The large scale and high number of candidates meant that meticulous preparation for each stage was paramount.

In various localities, the spirit of creating the most favorable conditions for candidates and parents has been thoroughly implemented. In Tran Phu commune, along with professional work, the local authorities have completed the review of conditions serving the exam. Plans to ensure facilities, electricity, communication, security, traffic safety, and food safety at the examination sites have all been developed proactively, ready to respond to any unforeseen situations.

Meanwhile, in Nghia Do ward, preparations continue to be implemented comprehensively. Vice Chairman of Nghia Do Ward People's Committee, Hoang Trung Kien, emphasized that in the coming time, the ward will continue to thoroughly review the conditions for organizing the exam, strengthen inspections, and urge units to complete the final stages, ensuring the exam takes place safely, seriously, in accordance with regulations, and creating a sense of security for candidates before entering the examination room.

With coordinated preparations from the city level to the grassroots, along with the proactive and responsible spirit of all forces involved in organizing the exam, Hanoi is gradually completing the final stages before "D-Day". The decisive involvement of localities also demonstrates the determination to organize a transparent, fair, and safe exam season, further boosting the confidence of parents and students before these important exams.
