The structure of the 10th grade entrance exam for Foreign Language High School (belonging to the University of Foreign Languages, Hanoi National University) in 2024 is basically the same as 2023.
The exam structure includes three subjects: Foreign Language Competency Assessment; Assessing Math and Natural Science abilities; Assessing Literature and Social Sciences competencies.
In 2023, the Foreign Language Specialized High School recruits 400 specialized students and 100 non-specialized students. The total registration documents received by the Foreign Language High School is more than 3.800, of which more than half are registered for English classes. With a quota of 215 for the specialized class, the English class has an odds of 1/9,7, meaning that for about 10 students taking the exam, one will be accepted.
The Russian class only recruited 15 students, while 319 students registered, so the match ratio was the highest – 1/21,3. Next is the Korean class with a ratio of 1/10,2, Japanese and French and 1/9,2. The two classes with the lowest odds are German and Chinese, 1/7,9 and 1/6,8 respectively.
The standard score for entering 7 specialized blocks of Foreign Language High School in 2023 ranges from 22 to more than 30 points.
