The University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has recently had five more training programs accredited. This achievement places the university among the few educational institutions with a high percentage of accredited programs.
Today, November 15th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held a ceremony to receive accreditation certificates for five training programs. These include three undergraduate programs: dentistry, medical imaging technology, and medical laboratory technology; and two master's programs: ophthalmology and pediatrics.
VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy has five more training programs that have received accreditation.
Thus, VNU Medical University has 7 out of 8 programs (both undergraduate and master's) that have been accredited (87.5%).
According to Dr. Phi Thi Nguyet Thanh, Deputy Director of the Thang Long Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, the government 's goal is to have 35% of training programs nationwide accredited for the first time by 2025.
Therefore, the figure of 87.5% of the training programs at VNU Medical University being accredited is very impressive.
It is known that VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy is also the training institution with the earliest accredited medical training program (since 2020).
According to data released on November 14th by the Quality Management Department of the Ministry of Education and Training, 2,113 training programs nationwide have now been accredited, achieving the government's target for the percentage of accredited programs at this time.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Quality Management Department, stated: "According to the Law on Higher Education, university accreditation brings several great benefits to universities, such as conditions for autonomy, conditions for self-determination of enrollment quotas, conditions for self-determination of tuition fees, etc."
In particular, in the trend of international integration, having accredited training programs at a university will build trust with partners when the university collaborates with foreign educational institutions (accreditation by international accreditation organizations is even better).
