The 7-day voyage to visit and encourage soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 platform of the Hanoi City Working Group in 2025 ended successfully, completing all tasks according to the plan.
Nostalgia for Truong Sa

In the proud atmosphere of the important national holidays: The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the Truong Sa archipelago (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7, 1955 - May 7, 2025), members of the Hanoi City Delegation had unforgettable experiences when setting foot on the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago ( Khanh Hoa province).

On the morning of May 8, ship KN 491 sounded its horn three times to salute Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa province). This was also the time when members of the working group began their journey to visit the islands: Song Tu Tay, Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Len Dao, Co Lin, Da Dong C, Truong Sa and DK1/16 Phuc Tan platform ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). Visiting and encouraging the military, people, and forces on duty on the islands, members of the working group sympathized with the harshness of the weather, of nature..., but above all, the efforts and determination to complete the mission of the officers and soldiers on the islands and DK1/16 platform.
In the story of visiting the officers, soldiers and forces on the islands, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee Hoang Trong Quyet shared: The members of the working delegation were very excited, touched and looking forward to coming to Truong Sa soon. Being able to come, witness and meet, each delegate felt proud of the people who steadfastly stuck to the sea, those who did not hesitate to sacrifice to protect every inch of land and sea of the Fatherland. Through that, each member of the working delegation saw more clearly their responsibility to the sea and islands of the beloved Fatherland.
In the overflowing joy, on the morning of May 12, the City Delegation was honored to attend the inauguration ceremony of the multi-purpose cultural house on Da Dong C island.
This is a project donated by the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Hanoi city. Witnessing the completed project, which has just been put into use, helping to ease the difficulties in the lives of soldiers on remote islands, the members of the working delegation could not help but be moved.
Sharing about this meaningful gift, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Pham Anh Tuan affirmed: “If Hanoi is the heart of the whole country, Truong Sa is the heart of the Vietnamese sea. The whole country for Truong Sa, Hanoi for Truong Sa.
That affection is filled with the desire for peace and the deep affection of the capital Hanoi towards the soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago. With all the love and trust, attached like flesh and blood, although the waves of Truong Sa do not exist, they always beat in harmony with the life of the capital.
Sharing the same sentiment towards Truong Sa, Major General Nguyen Dinh Luu, Deputy Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, also affirmed: “After the trip to Truong Sa, the love for the Fatherland and homeland of each person has increased a lot. We are also determined to compete with the cadres, soldiers, army and people on Truong Sa island district, and will always be a solid rear base so that the frontline comrades can firmly hold their guns to keep the sacred sea and sky of the Fatherland peaceful.”
Hanoi's affection for Truong Sa
In Hanoi's heart, Truong Sa is always present and that love is expressed through practical actions towards the homeland's sea and islands.
Specifically, from 2009 to present, Hanoi has organized 15 working delegations to visit cadres, soldiers and people of Truong Sa. Every year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city has launched and mobilized the establishment of the Fund for Truong Sa Sea and Islands to have resources to support Truong Sa island district.
During this voyage, members of the delegation also auctioned 5 embroidered paintings worth more than 500 million VND to raise funds to support the activities of officers and soldiers on Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform and other units.
The multi-purpose cultural house on Da Dong C island inaugurated on this occasion, as well as many other projects that Hanoi has supported in building before, have contributed to improving the material and spiritual life, serving the life and training of officers and soldiers on the island, creating a flexible defense posture, creating a solid support, a support for fishermen to confidently stay at sea, exploit seafood, and affirm Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
Continuing the support for construction works on Truong Sa archipelago, on this occasion, the Hanoi city delegation continued to donate the Cultural House project on Da Lat island with a value of 50 billion VND.
In addition to the gifts of existing structures on the islands, the delegation also presented many meaningful items serving the work and life of the soldiers and people on the islands, such as: TVs, portable speakers, water purifiers... and hundreds of boxes of other necessities.
Sharing about the gifts that Hanoi gave to Truong Sa island district, Rear Admiral Ho Thanh Hoan, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, emphasized: Over the years, Hanoi city, with its affection and responsibility, has always been the leading locality in contributing, supporting, and helping the army and people of Truong Sa island district in both spirit and material, contributing to changing the appearance and position of Truong Sa, so that Truong Sa becomes more prosperous and stronger.
In recent times, Hanoi has supported and assisted in the construction of many projects and meaningful gifts worth nearly 600 billion VND. The precious gifts and affection from the Party Committee, government, army and people of Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general are a great source of encouragement and motivation, contributing directly and significantly to improving the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers on the islands at the forefront of the waves and winds.
Love for Truong Sa will go hand in hand with responsibility for Truong Sa. “With practical meaning, with the responsibility of the whole country for Truong Sa, Hanoi for Truong Sa, I believe that in the coming years, Hanoi will contribute more, helping Truong Sa and our islands to be stable, contributing to building Vietnam to be more and more developed, rich, beautiful, civilized and modern”, affirmed Chairman of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Inspection Committee Hoang Trong Quyet.
