From 'Golden Hands' to Prime Minister's Commendation

For over 20 years, To Trung Giang, a rubber tapping management worker in the Ben Cui Team of Tay Ninh Rubber Joint Stock Company, has transformed his diligence, responsibility, and creativity into proud achievements. In 2025, he was honored with a Certificate of Commendation from the Prime Minister, recognizing his outstanding contributions to production.

Having started working in rubber tapping in 2005, Mr. To Trung Giang understands that success in the profession doesn't come from fleeting achievements but is accumulated through perseverance and hard work every day.

Having dedicated over 20 years to rubber tapping, Mr. To Trung Giang has consistently maintained his skills and is one of the outstanding workers of Tay Ninh Rubber Joint Stock Company.

Throughout his tenure, he consistently met and exceeded his assigned production targets. From 2020 to the present, the production output under his management has continuously surpassed planned targets, reaching over 122% in some years. Simultaneously, his work has consistently received excellent ratings in technical process inspections conducted by the company and his unit.

In addition to directly managing production, he also regularly monitors the workers, providing guidance on extraction techniques, reminding them to maintain the quality of raw materials, and ensuring workplace safety.

"To achieve high productivity, the first thing is to adhere to the correct technical procedures. Workers must carefully tap each tree, collect all types of latex, and maintain a stable work schedule. These may seem simple, but they determine production efficiency," Giang shared.

The "Golden Hand" award, along with numerous technical innovation initiatives, is a testament to the creative work ethic of Mr. To Trung Giang in the rubber plantations of Tay Ninh.

That effort helped him consistently achieve the title of Advanced Worker, be recognized as a grassroots emulation fighter for many consecutive years, and be acknowledged for outstanding performance of his duties.

A memorable milestone in his career was in 2018, when he won first prize in the company-level Golden Hands Competition.

"Achieving that title was the result of years of training. Each time I participated in a competition, I learned from my shortcomings and acquired new techniques to improve my skills," he recalled.

Initiatives stemming from practical work experience.

Not only is To Trung Giang a skilled craftsman, but he is also known by his colleagues as a worker who is always striving to improve his work.

From his daily work experience, he noticed that many tasks were physically demanding, posed safety risks, or were not highly efficient. It was from these concerns that many innovative ideas were born.

In 2022, he had two initiatives recognized by the Science and Technology Council of Tay Ninh Rubber Joint Stock Company.

In particular, the initiative "Using an iron hose gun for tapping the tapping head" helps workers operate faster, reduces labor costs, and improves safety when working on tall trees.

The initiative "Efficient Cleaning of Latex Pump Pipelines" helps to quickly clean the pumping system, reduce labor, and contribute to ensuring the quality of raw latex.

The even and precise cuts on the tree trunk are the result of the skill, experience, and meticulousness of the rubber tapping worker.

According to Mr. Giang, these initiatives all stem from the practical needs of the workers.

"There are tasks that my colleagues and I have to do repeatedly, which is very hard work but not very efficient. We think about ways to do it faster and safer, and then we boldly propose them. When we see our initiatives being applied and helping people, that's a great joy," he said.

Besides his professional work, he actively supports his colleagues, collaborates with the labor union to care for the well-being of workers, proposes support for disadvantaged workers, and participates in many social activities at the company.

For his achievements in production, technical innovation initiatives, and contributions to the collective, he successively received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, Certificates of Merit from the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, and in 2025 he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister .

For a worker who has been dedicated to the rubber industry for over two decades, that reward is not the destination but the motivation to continue contributing.

“Receiving the Prime Minister's Certificate of Commendation is a great honor. This also motivates me to continue striving, fulfilling my assigned tasks well, and contributing to the unit's achievement of production goals in the coming period,” Giang shared.

Amidst the sprawling rubber plantations of Ben Cui, the journey of Mr. To Trung Giang is a testament to the image of the modern rubber worker: skilled, resourceful, and always dedicated to his work. The regular tapping strokes each day not only produce a stream of white latex but also write a beautiful story about the persistent labor and aspirations of rubber industry workers.
