In the current trend of global integration and openness, Quang Ngai has been developing a new mindset and a long-term vision to seize opportunities to attract investment and effectively exploit the local potential and strengths, joining the rest of the country in building a prosperous and strong Vietnam.
According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, recently approved by the Prime Minister, Quang Ngai has identified four strategic economic corridors for development. These economic corridors are formed based on the potential for regional and intra-provincial linkages, as well as within the socio-economic development spatial zones of Quang Ngai province.
Firstly, there is the North-South Economic Corridor (Dung Quat - Quang Ngai City - Sa Huynh). This can be considered a key economic corridor for Quang Ngai in the current period and with a vision to 2050. This is because it is a part of the national North-South Economic Corridor. This economic corridor functions as a guiding, coordinating, and supporting link for the development of other economic corridors.
This economic corridor functions to link economic centers, urban areas, and administrative services, connecting lowland and coastal districts within the province; it is also linked to the development of spatial planning for urban areas, industrial zones, logistics centers, etc., in order to promote in-depth socio-economic development.

Quang Ngai is focusing on attracting investment to develop its industrial sector.
Secondly, there is the North East-West Economic Corridor (Ly Son - Dung Quat - Tra Bong - Tra My along National Highway 24C, expanding connections to Tra My district and the Nam Giang border gate in Quang Nam province). This economic corridor is an opening for Quang Ngai's economy to integrate with countries in the region and the world . This is an advantage that not every province or city possesses, as it connects the Dung Quat Economic Zone with the western districts of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces, as well as southern Laos, northeastern Cambodia, and Thailand. In the near future, this area will become a bustling import-export transportation corridor, facilitating international trade and promoting the development of cultural, ecological, and agricultural tourism in Quang Ngai.
Thirdly, there is the South East-West corridor (Sa Huynh - Ba To - Bo Y). This route runs from Pho An to Thach Tru - Pho Phong (Duc Pho town) - Ba To - Kon Tum - Bo Y - Ngoc Hoi. This area has significant potential and advantages for developing the fisheries, agriculture, forestry, trade, and tourism sectors, with Duc Pho town being a key focus. It also serves as a gateway economic corridor connecting with the Central Highlands provinces.
Finally, there is the inter-regional economic corridor along provincial roads 622, 626, and 24B connecting Tra Bong to Ba To (Ba Vi - Son Ha - Son Tay - Tra Bong). This is a green economic corridor, of paramount importance to other economic corridors. Therefore, it is necessary to focus investment on exploiting the advantages of this area for mutual development. When connected with the province's two East-West economic corridors, a synchronized infrastructure network will be formed, opening up many opportunities to attract investment.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Dang Van Minh, stated that the goal of establishing economic corridors is to connect areas within and outside the province. Based on this foundation, Quang Ngai will strive to become one of the key economic hubs in the region.
To date, Quang Ngai has established 6 industrial parks. Of these, 4 are located within the Dung Quat Economic Zone: the Western Industrial Park, the Eastern Dung Quat Industrial Park, the Binh Hoa - Binh Phuoc Industrial Park, and the Tinh Phong Industrial Park. Two are located outside the Dung Quat Economic Zone: the Pho Phong Industrial Park and the Quang Phu Industrial Park. According to the provincial plan, by 2030, Quang Ngai will have 10 industrial parks, and will continue to attract investment in 4 more industrial parks, including: Dung Quat II Industrial Park, Binh Thanh Industrial Park (Dung Quat Economic Zone), Binh Long Industrial Park, and An Phu Industrial Park.

For the Quang Phu Industrial Park (Quang Ngai City), the development orientation for the coming period is to continue maintaining and improving economic efficiency, gradually relocating and not attracting investment from businesses with potential environmental pollution risks. At the same time, the plan is to develop and expand the five existing industrial parks (four located within the Dung Quat Economic Zone and one outside) in locations with favorable road, waterway, and port connections, and with complete technical and social infrastructure. It is known that Quang Ngai's existing industrial parks not only create jobs and increase income for workers, but also truly become the driving force behind the strong economic development of Quang Ngai within the Central Vietnam Key Economic Zone.
Along with promoting investment attraction for the development of industrial parks and economic zones, Quang Ngai also prioritizes the construction of industrial clusters, aiming to ensure a rational territorial layout, exploit the province's potential and advantages, and ensure sustainable development. This is a sound policy, aimed at attracting supporting industries to serve the development of industrial parks and economic zones in the province. In the coming period, Quang Ngai will relocate three industrial clusters, including two in Quang Ngai City (Tinh An Tay Industrial Cluster and Truong Quang Trong Ward Industrial Cluster) and one in Ba To District (Ba To Town Industrial Cluster), as they are no longer suitable for the province's urbanization process and pose a risk of environmental pollution. At the same time, it will continue to maintain and expand 17 existing industrial clusters and establish 19 new ones in potential locations, ensuring development requirements are met.

Quang Ngai's urban and tourism sectors are currently underdeveloped, failing to live up to the province's potential and advantages. This poses a significant challenge for Quang Ngai in its current process of opening up, integration, and development. Therefore, the province has proposed, and received government approval, to develop My Khe Tourist Area and Ly Son Island Tourist Area into national tourist zones. However, achieving this requires Quang Ngai to mobilize all available capital to focus on investing in infrastructure for these two tourist areas.
Develop a roadmap for green and high-tech industrial development in concentrated industrial parks and clusters. Replicate models of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, and circular agriculture. Develop and improve infrastructure to support the development of green and smart cities. Strive to achieve targets for building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas. Establish a National Oil and Gas Refining and Energy Center in the Dung Quat Economic Zone…

In addition, Quang Ngai is also actively promoting investment to develop and establish provincial-level tourist areas, including: Sa Huynh Beach Tourist Area, Nui Ngang Lake Eco-tourism and Resort Area, Thach Bich Eco-tourism Area, Binh Chau Tourist Area, Ca Dam Mountain Eco-tourism Area, Nuoc Trong Lake Eco-tourism and Resort Area, Ka Tinh Eco-tourism Area, Bui Hui Grassland Eco-tourism Area, Thach Bich - Nui Chua Urban Resort and Eco-tourism Complex…
At the same time, Quang Ngai is also taking advantage of the coastal area along the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh route (from Tu Nghia district to Duc Pho town) to develop coastal tourism, service, urban, and agricultural and forestry zones. This area is identified and considered to have tourism as its main function, acting as a driving force for the development of new urban areas along the coastal route, contributing to the development of the southern coastal urban area of the province.

To retain tourists and diversify tourism products, Quang Ngai will promote investment attraction and the construction of several golf courses combined with resorts, tourism, sports, golf course businesses, entertainment, and urban service areas in potential and advantageous locations. This is also the aspiration for the development of Quang Ngai's tourism industry.
By 2030, Quang Ngai aims to become a moderately developed province in the country, with per capita income at least equal to the national average. It will enhance self-reliance and adaptability to economic fluctuations, focusing on the development of the digital economy, green economy, and circular economy. The goal is to transform challenges into opportunities; achieve sustainable development; focus on concentrated development; prioritize infrastructure development; and strengthen regional linkages.
Investing in the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Road project, with a total investment of 3,500 billion VND, is a bold decision by Quang Ngai province. The project has a total length of 26.88 km, with the starting point intersecting the Tri Binh - Dung Quat road in Binh Son district and the end point connecting to Hoang Sa road at the intersection at the beginning of the Tra Khuc River dam bridge in Quang Ngai city.

According to Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Road project has been unanimously selected by the Provincial Party Standing Committee as a key project of the province to be included in the list of projects celebrating the 21st Congress of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.
Upon completion, this project will contribute to the completion of the province's road transport network according to the approved plan. At the same time, it will form an important vertical transport axis of the province, providing quick and convenient connections from Chu Lai Airport (Quang Nam) to Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai City, and other southern localities of the province.
At the same time, it will create a key economic development corridor, acting as a driving force to attract investment and effectively exploit the economic development potential of the eastern areas of Binh Son, Son Tinh districts and Quang Ngai City. In particular, it will reduce traffic volume on National Highway 1, especially during peak hours when it is currently overloaded, meeting the need for convenient travel for the people.
