Tu Oanh "Taste of Love": "I am not a Meritorious Artist"

Recently, artist Tu Oanh announced her participation in the film Status: Divorced. However, when announcing the role, the producer mistakenly introduced her as a Meritorious Artist.

Immediately after that, Tu Oanh spoke up to correct: "I told the producer very carefully but you guys still made a mistake. I would like to correct you one last time: I'm just an actress, not a Meritorious Artist. In the hearts of the audience who love me, I'm loved no matter what, right?"

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter in a recent article, Tu Oanh said that 16 years ago, she chose family because she preferred to take care of meals and pick up her children from school. Therefore, she limited and almost did not participate in TV dramas. Many people said that it was a sacrifice of her career, but for her, it was a choice and she never regretted it.

When asked: "Continuously appearing in mean, sloppy, ordinary roles. The audience has never seen you... beautiful in movies. Do you feel sad?"

Tu Oanh said that each role she plays has its own personality and life, many actors always wish to play a role that does not require them to be picky or maintain their image.

"In movies, I always play the role of a strong-willed mother. In my opinion, the main roles must follow the standards, the most difficult in the world. However, every actor wants to do better to be accepted by the audience.

Whenever I am invited to play any role, I always ask to read the script first. If the script is interesting, I will actively consider the role and if I feel I can do it well, I will start thinking about creating the character's appearance. Only then will I accept the role," she said.

The actress confided: "Since I was young, I have lacked confidence, so I used independence and hard work to hide those shortcomings.

After 35 years old, I started to be more confident. People around me often see me happy and smiling, but no one's life is perfect. I think I should be satisfied with what I have. We make up for the lack in life with positive energy to overcome difficulties.

In the most miserable situations, I have overcome them, so there is nothing that makes me afraid or hesitant anymore.

Tu Oanh also said that sometimes she has to suffer because she is too gentle: "At the age of fifty, I think I am someone who easily accepts life. I believe that to have a peaceful life, I often do not have the ability to fight directly but will find another way."

Tu Oanh was born in 1968, graduated from the University of Theatre and Cinema, in the same class as Chieu Xuan, Pham Cuong, Giang Coi... She used to be an actress at the Youth Theater.

After 15 years of not acting to focus on her family and personal life, in 2021 she returned to acting in TV series with a long-running role in The Taste of Love and attracted attention with the role of Mrs. Bich - Nam's adoptive mother played by Phuong Oanh.
