What is your perspective on the General Secretary's position in the hearts of the people nationwide?

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is one of the most prominent and influential leaders in the modern era of the Party. Among the people, he is known as a resolute, upright leader with a deep commitment to the country's development.

Under his leadership, many important policies were enacted and implemented, especially in the fight against corruption. He contributed to guiding and promoting economic and social reform movements, revitalizing national culture, and bringing prosperity and confidence to the people.

In fact, for the people, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is not only a leader but also a role model of morality, of service to the country, and of humility. His respect and affection are the result of his tireless efforts, loyalty, and love for his homeland.

At the recent memorial service for the General Secretary, thousands of people patiently and quietly waited, and millions across the country expressed their sorrow. This sadness stems not only from the loss of a person, but also from the loss of a dedicated and respected leader... He was respected not only for his political achievements but also for his simplicity and closeness to the people.

I believe that the people's affection for the General Secretary is the clearest evidence of their trust and support for the country's leadership in general, and for him personally. In the context of the country facing many difficulties and challenges, the patriotism, unity, and determination of the people are all the more important.

With his immense contributions to leading and guiding Vietnam's development, he left a profound mark. However, after that sorrow, perhaps comes responsibility and determination. Every citizen, every official, needs to reflect on their role and responsibilities in building and protecting the country. This responsibility does not only belong to those holding high positions, but also to each individual. Every action, from small to large, contributes to the overall development of the nation.

What impressed you most about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during your interactions?

Although I've had few opportunities to meet General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, I still sense his noble qualities and high moral character – typical of the Vietnamese people. He always possesses a high sense of responsibility and dedication to his work. It can be said that he has devoted his entire life to the development of the country.

His unwavering and decisive approach to policy implementation and the fight against corruption has become his trademark. He has led the country through many challenges, earning the trust and affection of the entire Party and the people.

Speaking at the opening session of the 13th National Party Congress, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: “With all humility, we can still say that our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today. These achievements are the product of creativity, the result of a continuous and persistent effort over many terms by the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army...”

As someone who was close to the people, respected the people, learned from the people, and was responsible to the people, he always listened and contributed many valuable research works, applying them to leadership. In particular, he was a prime example of the spirit of innovation; alongside unwavering ideals, he always encouraged necessary innovations and reforms to promote socio-economic development, helping the country successfully integrate into the international community and "take off."

It's not just me; many Vietnamese people are moved by the image of the General Secretary sitting and wrapping banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) with his family, the letters he wrote to his former teacher, his humility when visiting his old school... His simplicity, genuineness, and unpretentiousness have spread to everyone.

Could you share your thoughts on the General Secretary's influence on the cultural field?

The General Secretary was a figure of profound influence, leading and guiding the cultural field. He once shared: "Human happiness is not just about having a lot of money, possessions, good food, and beautiful clothes, but also about richness of soul, living amidst love and compassion, righteousness and justice." He always aimed to protect and promote traditional and revolutionary cultural values in his political leadership.

His love for culture permeated every directive, writing, and statement. The spirit of "culture illuminates the path for the nation," or "culture is the soul of the nation, expressing national identity. As long as culture exists, the nation exists," most profoundly reflects his desire for culture to play a leading and regulating role in the country's development.

At the 2021 National Cultural Conference, the General Secretary delivered a speech, conveying many messages and truly inspiring cultural officials and artists to contribute more to the revitalization of the nation's culture.

The General Secretary's system of views on cultural development and human development, summarized in his writings and speeches, is compiled in the book "Building and Developing an Advanced Culture Rich in National Identity." These directives not only guide cultural development in the future but also affirm the importance of culture in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Moreover, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is also a symbol of profound intellect and knowledge. With a solid academic foundation and extensive knowledge of political theory, culture, and national history, he has contributed many valuable research works and applied that understanding to his leadership work.

During a period when the negative aspects of the market economy, international integration, and new media had a significant impact on cultural life in our country, leading to many risks such as: selfish individualism, hedonistic lifestyles, the dominance of foreign cultures, the fading of traditional values, and excessive commercialization of culture and arts without considering long-term benefits… all of which eroded national cultural values and negatively affected the moral development of the community and individuals.

All of this requires a correct and clear cultural development orientation to act as a regulator and guide for cultural development as well as the overall development of the country. In this context, the appearance and role of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in important positions in the country is truly significant for the development of our culture.

I believe that President Ho Chi Minh's profound thoughts on culture and tradition have strongly influenced General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He has always aimed to protect and promote traditional and revolutionary cultural values in his political leadership.

Through his tireless efforts, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has truly made a significant contribution to enhancing the stature and value of Vietnamese culture on the international stage. He is indeed one of Vietnam's great cultural figures, laying the foundation for the comprehensive development of the country, from economics and politics to culture and society.

Therefore, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has effectively applied his knowledge and skills from a literary background, his deep understanding of national traditions and moral values, to make sound decisions and develop appropriate strategies, making a significant contribution to shaping and developing the country.

The combination of literary knowledge and leadership skills has enabled General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to make significant contributions to Vietnam's modern history, creating a country with the admired international standing and prestige it enjoys today.

The General Secretary's leadership has demonstrated vision and determination in guiding the country through difficulties. His exemplary conduct and strategic thinking have played a crucial role in shaping and fostering unity within society. We need to continue to promote patriotism, solidarity, determination, and the consensus of the entire nation. This is the key to enabling our country not only to overcome current challenges but also to unlock new opportunities.
