According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Thanh, Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Planning Department of Tuong Mai Ward, energy saving is not only a solution to reduce living costs but also a task associated with green urban development and ensuring energy security.
The ward aims to save at least 3% of total electricity consumption in 2026 and at least 10% during the peak hot months (April to July).
Accordingly, the ward will intensify the dissemination of information on safe and efficient electricity use in each residential area and each household.
Mr. Do Duc Anh, Head of Business Department of Thanh Tri Power Company, emphasized that saving electricity is not simply about reducing costs, but also contributes to protecting resources and ensuring national energy security.
Mr. Anh recommended that people maintain the habit of "turning off when not in use," prioritizing energy-saving appliances, and adjusting air conditioner temperatures to 26-28 degrees Celsius during the day and 25-27 degrees Celsius at night to reduce electricity consumption in the summer. According to him, air conditioners can account for 30-60% of total household electricity consumption if used improperly.

Regarding the residential area, Mr. Vu Quang Hieu - Secretary of the Party Cell of Residential Group No. 13, 18, and 20 (Hoang Van Thu Street), Tuong Mai Ward, believes that saving electricity is only truly effective when it becomes a regular habit for each household. Recently, many residential groups in Tuong Mai Ward have incorporated electricity and water saving into their Party cell activities and emulation movements within the residential area.
He suggested that officials and Party members at the Party branches should continue to play an exemplary role and take the lead in practicing energy conservation to spread a sense of responsibility to every family. In addition, good models and effective practices should be replicated to create sustainable changes in the community.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Kim Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Mai Ward, Tuong Mai currently has the highest electricity consumption volume for Thanh Tri Power Company, with a dense power infrastructure including 171 substations and 213 transformers. This is both an advantage for urban development and places significant pressure on operation, ensuring electrical safety and efficient electricity use.
To reduce the load on the power system, the ward is coordinating with Thanh Tri Power Company to review infrastructure and propose undergrounding power lines in many key streets such as Mai Dong, Giap Bat, and Hoang Mai.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Mai Ward called on agencies, businesses, and residents to join hands in implementing the energy saving movement through specific actions such as turning off electrical devices when not in use, limiting electricity use during peak hours, and prioritizing energy-saving devices. Electricity saving will be included in the emulation criteria of residential groups to create change from the grassroots level.
