Tưởng nhớ và thưởng thức tài năng của huyền thoại âm nhạc Ryuichi Sakamoto

Edited and directed by himself, the film is a timeless symphony, taking the audience on a melodious journey through the iconic musical works of his life.

Born in 1952 in Tokyo, Ryuichi Sakamoto began his career with his debut solo album, A Thousand Knives (1978).

That same year, he co-founded the unique electronic music group Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) with Yukihiro Takahashi and Haruomi Hosono, a group that completely changed the contemporary music landscape.

After YMO disbanded in 1983, Sakamoto embarked on a prolific solo career, creating groundbreaking albums and collaborating with artists around the world.

His talent for exploring sounds and bold emotions brought him fame in the international music scene, affirming him as a talented artist ahead of his time.

On March 28, 2023, legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away after a courageous battle against cancer.

In his later years, Sakamoto was unable to continue performing live. Individual concerts, let alone world tours, became too much for him.

Still, in late 2022, Sakamoto focused all his energies on leaving the world with one final performance: a concert film, featuring just him and the piano.

Selected by Sakamoto himself and performed in the order he chose, the twenty tracks in the film tell his life story wordlessly through music.

This screening is a precious opportunity for the audience to come together to remember and honor a talented artist, and to immerse themselves in his last wonderful melodies. Sakamoto's passing is a great loss to the world of music, but his legacy will live on forever.
