Tuyen Quang: Police and people are trying to find 4 people buried by landslide

As of the afternoon of September 30, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Tuyen Quang Provincial Police, together with local authorities and people, are still urgently racing against time to search for 4 missing victims in the serious landslide that occurred in Lung Cu commune.

Previously, at around 6:30 a.m. the same day, prolonged heavy rain caused a part of the mountainside to suddenly collapse, dragging a large amount of rock, mud and water down to the residential area, completely burying the house of Mr. Vang Cha So (Ma Lau A village, Lung Cu commune).

The four missing members of Mr. So's family include: Mr. Vang Cha So (born in 1982), Ms. Hau Thi Dinh (born in 1980), Vang Xuan Hoa (born in 2003), and Vang Minh Hai (born in 2004).

The family has 7 people, at the time of the incident only 4 people were at home.

Authorities and people search for victims

Upon receiving the information, Lung Cu Commune Police mobilized forces and local people to organize search and rescue, and evacuate households in areas at high risk of landslides to safety.

By late afternoon of the same day, rescue work was still being urgently deployed, in weather conditions of continued heavy rain, rugged terrain, and the risk of further landslides, threatening the safety of rescue forces and people.

Lung Cu Commune Police and local people dug up new soil and rocks to search for victims.

Currently, authorities are increasing human resources and specialized equipment, making efforts to search for missing victims, and closely monitoring weather developments to proactively respond.
