Located right at the foot of the legendary Hai Van Pass, Lap An Lagoon captivates visitors with its crystal-clear waters, so transparent that you can see fish swimming below, while layers of clouds drift lazily across the sky, and distant mountains appear hazy.

The scenery here is likened to the "valley of love" of the ancient capital region.

Lap An Lagoon covers an area of over 800 hectares and is the livelihood of nearly 10,000 people living at the foot of Hai Van Pass. However, none of the current residents living around Lap An Lagoon know the full story of its origins.

According to the elders in Tan Lap village, no one knows when the pond was formed or who owned it. They only heard stories from previous generations that the pond had been there since ancient times when people migrated to the area to build the village. Back then, the pond was called Lang Co Pond (Crane Village Pond) because it was a piece of land specifically for cranes to survive.

The local cuisine is also a noteworthy highlight. Thanks to favorable hydrological conditions, this brackish lagoon has given rise to the famous oyster farming industry. The oysters are cultivated using a rather unique method: they are grown on old car tires and tied to bamboo poles. Along the winding road beside the lagoon are stalls selling fresh oysters and many other types of seafood caught right in the Lap An lagoon area.

At different times of the year, Lap An Lagoon in Hue displays different beauties. Especially from April to July, the clear, sunny weather with little rain makes the landscape even more enchanting and magical.
